Wonder if they post Voltaire quotes on the Solihull fans forum? Pedant's point: the famous quote about free speech was not actually from Voltaire, but devised by his English biographer Evelyn Beatrice Hall.

I should like to know which is worse: to be ravished a hundred times by pirates, and have a buttock cut off, and run the gauntlet of the Bulgarians, and be flogged and hanged in an auto-da-fe, and be dissected, and have to row in a galley -- in short, to undergo all the miseries we have each of us suffered -- or to be a season ticket holder at Boreham Wood FC?

Or catching syphilis from Paquette, at least he didn’t gloss over the fact.

In fairness, he was seldom one to gloss.

A serious question - yes honestly!
Regarding loans in or out who usually pays the wages? Presumably it's on a case by case basis. For instance when we get players from League clubs they're obviously on wages out of our reach. But when we loan players out who pays them?

For instance when we get players from League clubs they're obviously on wages out of our reach. But when we loan players out who pays them? From what I know it depends on the deal being struck - usually (but not always) a player from a much higher division goes on loan to us, then we may not have to pay their wages or pay a percentage of it. Usually when the divide is a lot smaller then wages are usually paid by the receiving club, but it depends on what arrangement has been made. I could be wrong but I expect in our cases, we paid very little of Drinan's wages, but Havant are probably paying the bulk of Ayunga's and Maidstone the same for Worner. I don't think there are any rules in place saying that the receiving club have to pay wages. It all depends on the reasons behind the loan, one of which could well be to save wages.

I must admit that most of this particular thread has left me scratching my head in bewilderment. It has almost seemed like a foreign language to me. I shall shut up now.
