Ebbsfleet are set to be shut out of their training ground because of an unpaid bill of £30,000!

Next up for Fleet is away to Gateshead. The fans should have plenty to discuss other than the actual football!

Funny old game, so Ebbsfleet are in the crap, I seem to remember discussions on here about how different they would be to all the other flash in the pans teams we had met along the way, Grays athletic, Canvey Island, Lewes, Farnborough, Fisher Athletic (remember them?), Croydon Athletic, and so the list goes on, but the end is always the same. Great story here from June 2013 www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/318635/I do have sympathy for Gateshead, but none at all for those that take the pieces of silver, it will be Salford next.

It won't be Salford all the time the ex Man U contingent are using them as a vanity exercise but I totally agree with your sentiment and I'd add AFC Fylde to that list as well. In terms of the historic top trumps above, I'll see your Fisher Athletic and raise you a Colne Dynamoes!

Well at least Salford & AFC Fylde have got decent grounds out of it. There is meant to be a lot of money behind Ebbsfleet emanating from the Middle East so i find it strange there are money problems. I remember last season Macclesfield having trouble paying their players and they had an appeal for money when we played them.

Maybe they spend too much on crackers, sprouts and turkey every year! Salford and Fylde both have decent grounds, but I can think of 3 decent grounds that have killed or nearly killed 5 clubs, either directly or indirectly (Nene Park killing off Rushden and Diamonds and Kettering, Watling Street killing off Maidstone United and nearly Dartford, and the wonderful George Reynolds Arena which killed off Darlington).

Histon, didn't they once get to the play off semi and brought under 25 fans to Torquay? Yeah, that was never going to end well.

George Reynolds, now he has to be the top trump of unsavoury (to say the least) chairmen, possibly ever. Someone who'd done time for robbery (safe breaking was supposedly his "speciality", then made veiled threats of violence against the local media for having the temerity to criticise him as Darlington were not-so-slowly going down the pan. Mind you, Tamplin would run him close and hopefully Billericay will be the next ones into the sewer.

Yeah, that was never going to end well. They did indeed. Quite a run they had there. From 2 games from being a league club to Eastern Counties league in 6 or so seasons?

And that still wasn't enough for him to secretly jump on a plane to the middle east!

From 2 games from being a league club to Eastern Counties league in 6 or so seasons? Yeah, roughly that time frame. And if I remember correctly they (also) put Leeds out of the cup. They're ever so slowly on the way back though. Currently top of ECL but realistically Step 8 is their level, Step 7 at an absolute push.

That was a nice old ground and they never needed anything bigger.
