Gutted to hear the news that Paul has decided to resign on a permanent basis. Would like to thank Paul for his hard work and dedication to the club. We have some amazing memories and are now an established National league side. Big boots to fill. Thank you Dos you are a Sutton Legend!

I'm totally numb and lost for words. Feels like it's been a death in the family. But echo Admin on all and it's going to take some time before the reality sinks in.

God bless you Dos. A 3 year in relative Sutton newbie hooked largely due to your enthusiasm, skill and character. Gutted. Sending the very best wishes to you and your family. Thanks for some brilliant memories.💛😢

We lost a legend today, make no mistake. The manager who presided over our best ever cup run and our best ever league finish is a manager who will be held in the highest regard for generations to come. Talk about bowing out on a high! Many happy memories, and there's no doubt he has left us for the most honourable of reasons. Doswell forever.

Always wanted to see Sutton play Arsenal. Dos made that happen and so much more as well. Very hard act to follow but can't thank him enough for what he did for this club

God knows what the future holds but above anything I hope the fans get a chance to show our appreciation to Dos. No idea the circumstances, but the least he deserves is a lap of honour. Not sure how that happens now, I'm sure he wouldn't want to step on the new guys shoes next season.

All the very best to you and your family Paul. Thank you for your massive contribution to SUFC. Giving us all so many memorable great moments to be very proud about. At the moment feel that I have just lost a very good friend

Just had a little cry at a barbeque, much to everyone's embarrassment. I just don't know what else to say - absolutely gutted. From a purely management point of view then in my eyes he's still just a little bit behind Barrie, but for everything else he towers above everyone. How the club replaces him I have no idea 😥😥😥

Logic told me that this was going to happen, health and family first but still a crushing blow when it did. Thank you Dos, the perfect storm of your amazing efforts coupled with a great board has given us 11 years of wonderful memories and more importantly a vastly improved infrastructure. Good luck with your future endeavours.

Dos, thank you for the good times that you have helped bring to our football club. As a lapsed regular I was brought back by your energy, enthusiasm and belief. The personal cost that you have invested, both financial and emotional, are incredible, and for these alone you are quite rightly considered legendary. The footballing success has also been of historical proportions. Highest ever league position, furthest progression in the FA Cup. And who could forget that match against Arsenal? Did that REALLY happen? You have big boots to fill. Enjoy the break, you deserve it.
PS: can you leave your contact book with Bruce?...

As near to irreplaceable as there is. Don’t want to think about the future so I’ll just add my thanks and appreciation here in the knowledge he reads this forum. No doubt in my mind at all we’d be at least 1 level below without him. He is a true class act, passionate, inspirational, a leader and in my eyes the best there has been at this club. In 11 years he has always maximised the efforts produced from the team and has been able to rebuild the side several times over to adjust to new levels, replace players moving upwards or to raise our bar. Incredible. And words cannot do what he has done justice!
