I have always understood that a wing back was a specific position where you didn’t have a wide midfielder, i.e. you’d be asking the player to provide the main attacking width as well as having defensive duties. Usually a system played with 3 centre backs. My recollection was Dan played left back with someone in front of him, e.g. Stearn or Boli. Anyway I’d not want to see Deacon play left back or left wing back, whatever you would like to call it. He did us a favour filling in there but surely he should be going for goals/assists as his main role!

Yes I agree that Roarie shouldn't play as a wing back. I couldn't understand when Baird said that he couldn't bring back Aswad and drop Roarie. No. He should've brought Aswad back and pushed Roarie upfield in place of someone else.
Anyway - too late for that now.

Agreed. Didn’t hear that Baird comment. Strange. I think we missed an opportunity to try a few things in the last few weeks. Baffled from afar with the game time given to Williams who was clearly not going to be around next season. Even allowing for us being stretched injury wise we seemed to have options.

Personally I like to see Roarie play the free role in the center, thats where all his damage used to come from in his first stint with us. Don't it really matters if a wingback is a wingback or a defender with licence to raid forward the result is pretty much the same. All I was really pointing out was that up until the last couple of games it was working.

Personally I’d be surprised if Roarie is here next season. It depends if he gets a decent offer.

Personally I’d be surprised if Roarie is here next season. It depends if he gets a decent offer. After the Dundee adventure didn't work and he returned to us I don't think there will be many offers until he's re-built his reputation with us.

Bromley not hanging around this close season already signing Adrian Clifton (Maidenhead) and today Michael Cheek (Ebbsfleet) - both players who I was hoping we might have been looking to recruit.

I didn't realise he had a twin! That's why he/they got so many goals for us.

I for one never expected Roarie to stay for the simple reason that we were unlikely to be able to afford him.
