Got to love a goalie who, as the article says, wants to grab an opportunity with both hands.

Signing him sounds like a sensible idea. He's young and very keen to learn and work his way up the ranks. Rather than having two first choice keepers - both expensive for us and frustrating for them not to get a regular first team place - having someone in reserve who's presumably much cheaper to employ plus very motivated to prove himself worthy when he does get to play would probably work very well. And he could learn a lot at this level too. Good luck to him!
Just noted this isn't on our official site or anything, so best wait for confirmation!

Hi, I'd take this with a very large pinch of salt. I have just spoken to our manager and it's news to him !!

Very odd! The article says he trialled with us in January? Bearing in mind his age, is he actually signed up to the Academy team rather than the first team? Or is the story bunkum from start to end?

Just to clarify. No contract. Simply an academy student along with around a hundred others.

I am not yet one of those at panic stage. The players we have let go (or lost) in truth were part of what was either a required clear out or who left for their own probably good reasons. In fact the only two I would have really wanted to stay were Aswad and Roarie. However the concern really is the absence of any good news stories about replacements coming in. Reality is that Dos's profile and reputation were often enough to get a player in who otherwise would not have done so. Only time will tell if MG has that same pulling power.

It is probably worth adding that a lot of player contracts run until 30th June, so the market is likely to still be quiet for a while. I suspect Matt'll try to get a few league loans using his contacts.

I have no knowledge of Matt, his managerial qualities, or his contacts in the game, just hoping for the best really. If he comes recommended by Dos though, then I am sure he will be decent and do his best for us
For me personally I would be very satisfied if we maintain our position in the National League this season, and build from there. I suspect Matt will need some financial backing to achieve that

Hi, there are essentially three ways that a player can move clubs during the close season.
1/. A non-contract player can sign for any club 2/. A contracted player can sign for another club once his contract terminates, that might be at the end of April, May or June. April was common when we were an Isthmian club, in the NL a lot more carry on through June. 3/. A contracted player (eg expiring the next year) can sign for another club if the selling and buying club come to a transfer agreement
There is also the complication of young players nearing the end of their contract who are offered new terms, they can move clubs but a transfer fee must be agreed or subsequent compensation decided through arbitration.

Well we know that Jonah, Roarie and Ross have all gone to Havant. Any news on the other players released?
