The thirteenth Strikers are Key draw of the season took place in a jubilant Players’ Bar after the U’s terrific 3-1 win v Wrexham.
Hat-trick hero, Omar Bugiel, pulled ball 17 out of the purple velvet bag owned by the syndicate “Cashout Crew 2”, comprising Malcolm Pearce, Mark Hamill, Bill Keary, “Eddie” Cunningham and “Arsenal” Alan.
Sadly the guys couldn’t choose the right key and they had to make do with the £50 consolation prize.
We move on to draw 14 which will be made after the lunchtime kick off v Yeovil next Saturday, which will also feature the first of two festive bonus draws for a 2020/21 season ticket.
Until then; Merry Christmas everyone!

Don’t forget - it’s the first of the festive double SAK draws this Saturday after the game v Yeovil at the somewhat unusual time of 3pm in the Players’ Bar! A 2020/21 season ticket is up for grabs - then it’s the 14th SAK draw of the season .....and Omar has been rather swelling the coffers over the past couple of matches See you there!

The first of the two festive Strikers are Key double draws took place in a very lively Players’ Bar after the 3-2 win against Yeovil Town.
The first of two 2020/21 season tickets was won by the “Mark Watson Fan Club” syndicate - Brian Waite, Nick Williams and Fred Knopp will be getting their heads together working out how they’ll divide that up between them!
Then the regular - in so far as the SAK draw can ever be described as “regular”! - fourteenth draw of the season took place and it was the turn of ball 11, owned by Phil White, to make an appearance.
Recent goalscoring exploits had swelled the safe’s contents to £700 and Phil strode confidently to the SAK stage....alas to no avail. He chose the wrong key and had to make do with the £50 consolation prize.
It all means that a minimum of £900 will be up for grabs (and another 2020/21 season ticket) after the New Year’s Day return fixture v Woking.
See you there.

The second of the two festive Strikers are Key double draws was conducted by Jamie Collins in a packed and extremely lively Players’ Bar after the 6-2 win against Woking The second of two 2020/21 season tickets was won by Andy McVicar as his ball 49 was plucked from the purple velvet bag by Jamie. He then executed the fifteenth SAK draw of the season and it was the turn of ball 19, owned by the syndicate “The Yatzee Gods”, comprising Dave Smith, Gareth Lambe and Kevin Sutton to make an appearance. The day’s successes in front of goal had quickly swelled the safe’s contents to a very healthy £1050 but, in the absence of the three syndicate members, Jamie was unable to choose the right key on their behalf and they had to make do with the £50 consolation prize. It all means that a minimum of £1250 will be up for grabs at the sixteenth draw of the season to be made after the match v Solihull Moors on Saturday 25th January. Onwards we go. See you there

The sixteenth Strikers are Key draw of the season took place in the Players’ Bar after the goalless draw v Solihull Moors and it was the turn of ball 46, owned by the syndicate “Woodturners United”, comprising Julie and Colin Parker, Jackie and Alan Finnan, to emerge from the purple velvet bag.
Colin stepped on to the SAK stage in a bid to win the £1,250 up for grabs but was unfortunately unsuccessful in choosing the right key to relieve the safe of its ever-growing contents. The syndicate had to make do with the £50 consolation prize.
It all means that a minimum of £1,450 will be locked securely in the safe prior to the next draw which will be made after the match v League leaders Barrow on Saturday 22 Feb (remember it’s a 5:20pm kick off). The Strikers are Key draw that day will be followed by the Race Night in the MBA Lounge...so make a day - and a night- of it down the Lane in four weeks’ time.
Someone is going to “win big” soon!
Until next time.

Harry Beautyman could do no wrong on Saturday it seems!
Shortly after his brace of goals secured a hard-earned point for the U’s against table-toppers Barrow, he stepped on to the Strikers are Key stage and plucked ball 20 from the purple velvet bag owned by Steve, Vicky and Adam King. In their absence he then went in to choose the right key on their behalf winning them £1450 along the way!
Needless to say Steve was more than a little pleased when he was informed. It’s fair to say Harry’s popularity-rating in the King household is sky-high! Congratulations to them.
We move on to draw 18 in two weeks’ time after the match v Torquay United.
See you then!

The eighteenth Strikers are Key draw of the season duly took place in a jubilant Players’ Bar after the 2-0 win against Torquay United.
This time it was the turn of ball number 8, owned by the syndicate “The Good Eggs”, comprising Keith Robinson and Natalie Snow, to emerge from the purple velvet bag.
Hot on the heels of Steve King’s success last time out, Keith duly selected the correct key to relieve the SAK safe of its contents winning the syndicate £250 in the process! Congratulations to them.
We move on to draw 19 to be made after the match v Hartlepool United next Saturday.
See you there!

Ball 25 was pulled from the purple velvet bag in the 19th SAK draw of the season made after the 1-1 draw v Hartlepool United. Ball 25 is owned by “The Management” syndicate comprising Matt Gray, Jason Goodliffe, Micky Stephens, Clive Baxter and Bobby Childs. Sadly, Bobby selected the wrong key; the safe remained intact and the guys had to make do with the £50 consolation prize.
We move on to draws 20 and 21, scheduled to take place after the match v Eastleigh on Saturday 28th March.
Amber and proud.
