Is there anyone brave enough to say they hope they do not keep their NL status?

I hope they do. Been to see Sutton v Gateshead the past three seasons and Sutton haven't lost once. Plus I had possibly the best day out of this season watching the 4-2 win.

How much does it cost our club to travel to Gateshead £1000?
How much extra revenue would we receive from an Aldershot home game £2000?

I hope they keep their NL status. It's not the fans or the players fault all this has happened, and wishing them misfortune because of a loony owner is something I'm not going to take part in.

Nope, Aldershot can FRO.
I would much rather a weekend away in Newcastle than visiting Aldershot any day of the week plus the view from the away section at the Rec is far worse than the view at Gateshead.
Yes Gateshead suffers due to no atmosphere in such a large stadium but the football is just a 90 minute distraction from a good weekend away usually.

We never blooming win at the Rec anyway, if the league accept Gateshead they’ll likely struggle so will likely take up one of the relegation spots

I went to Aldershot on Bank Holiday last August. What a depressing day. The view was indeed crap, facilities for away fans awful and we lost. The pluses were The Crimea pub near the ground and meeting Mickey Joyce.
Edit: And we had that terrible drum from Aldershot fans.

I was talking to several of their supporters when they came to GGL and found them to be friendly and caring supporters. They had made the effort and gracefully took defeat. I wished them well and still do. They deserve better than this.

Spent 25 years going past Aldershot's ground every weekday, and much prefer that to going in it. Their section for away fans is horrible.
My local rag covers Aldershot in depth, and from the figures just seen I am not sure they can afford to stay in the NPL either. Their last published accounts were for the season ended May 2018 when they reached the playoffs. They doubled their debt to about £760k. On that basis their latest relegation season accounts will take them past the £1 million mark. They budgeted for an average home attendance of 2400, wildly optimistic. They had 63 salaried staff.
I have no idea where the money for next season will come from but I doubt it will pay for more than a Conference South team.

People are literally throwing them away.

According to Gateshead forum their change of directorship may not have happened and their NL status is still very much in doubt.

You would have thought that after going bust once that Aldershot would have managed their finances properly.

I was referring to the subject title of this thread not Aldershot hence I said Gateshead. No mention of the 'shots
