For those in the know (or who are interested). Forres Mechanics were knocked out of the North of Scotland Cup last night by Caley Thistle 3-1. There is a good picture on the Caley website of their kit -Forres- which is just like ours and I hopefully will manage to see them next month and wear my SUFC hat and scarf ((which I do when I see Caley Thistle).

Speaking of Scottish football, I see that Solihull Moors are away to Kelty Hearts and Wrexham at home to Ayr in the 3rd round of the Scottish Challenge Cup, to be played on 7 September.
Given Solihull's form at the moment, I suspect Kelty Hearts may be broken...

Kelts Hearts last 3 games were all won, 4-0, 5-0 and 1-1 with 6-5 penalty win. Should be a cracking game against Solihull.

Apparently, it's no longer the Irn Bru Cup this year due to a change of sponsor, so it's all fizzy water under the bridge. It's now the far more snappily named Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup.

Had a horrible thought we'd not posted last weekend's blog link on here and just spotted this whilst checking! Yes, there was indeed a cultural exchange trip to Forres the season before last. You can read all about it here: www.gandermonium.com/2017/08/a-highland-fling-football-abroad.htmlLovely club, lovely people. They made us all very welcome and were amazing hosts. A reciprocal visit was made by a delegation from Mossett Park at the end of last season for the Maidstone game on the Easter Bank Holiday. So yeah, there's a few Can Cans shirts floating around amongst some of the faithful at GGL these days. If you do get to visit MP, be sure to wear your colours. They're well aware of the link we share and will be only too happy to see you. Tell em we said hello.

Six of us from Forres Mechanics did indeed visit Sutton United and attended the game v Maidstone. All thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with great hospitality shown to us. Looks like there will be a delegation heading your way later in the season so get the club bars stocked up.

Sorry Caley beat you though but here’s hoping that the final might be between Caley and Fort William, that’s providing Caley can beat Clachnacuddin first! It would be interesting because Caley has loaned 9 players to the Fort so that they can win some matches!

Interesting. Why didn't they invite the 2 next best English clubs as they invite Welsh team already.

Because Wrexham don't play in the Welsh league and Solihull isn't in Wales.
