No need for abuse, but I think the managers tweet isn't the best piece of PR. He's paid by Sutton to manage the team, who are flirting with the relegation zone. Might be an idea to keep it to yourself that you'd rather be elsewhere. Comes across a bit like our game with Stockport is a bit of an inconvenience in my opinion What tweet, the one about his family connection with H & V's opponents in the FA Cup? "Gutted I wont be there" is a perfectly normal sentiment, and nothing like your interpretation. Who amongst us has not experienced an occasion where we couldn't be in two places at once? I had an occasion, last season, where I had to miss a Sutton game because I was in hospital with a serious stomach complaint. Truly "gutted" that I couldn't be at the game, but I know where I would "rather have been"!

Or you could interpret it in completely the opposite direction. "I'm gutted I can't be in two places at once, but I won't be there because I have something more important to do."

"I'm gutted I can't be in two places at once, but I won't be there because I have something more important to do." it's almost as if it would have better had he said exactly that. I'm not doubting his commitment to the cause, just that I wouldn't have put the "gutted I can't be there" out in public. Im 100% sure he's working his wotsits off to make sure we don't get dragged into the relegation zone

What a joy it must be for non-league football managers in the modern age to have their every utterance dissected and critiqued by armchair pedants. And to think Dos did this gratis!

And to think Dos did this gratis! not every utterance is it though? Just the ones said out loud, in public, that could be seen as wishing he was somewhere else on a game day.

I used to love this forum. It has now descended into tediocrity (yes I’m aware it’s not a word). Fed up with petty arguments over who should’ve said sorry but didn’t, who has been to more games than others and who said sorry but shouldn’t have bothered. I shall of course continue to monitor this situation whilst wondering why the hell Dylan K is out on loan and getting puzzled over the price of an Amber 500 ticket.

Not really interested in why you think the forum is too full of pedantry, more interested in whether the first syllable of your made-up word rhymes with mead or bed.

Meh. I'd go with mead.
Anyway I may have missed this from elsewhere but is the draw for the 4th Preliminary Round next Monday?

Fairly obvious that's exactly what he meant, don't you think?
