I doubt it as Matt Gray said they've now got two weeks off. What all of them ? An opportunity missed if that's the case. Why not set up a game against Sutton Ladies and score 25/30 goals or more ?At least it would get the "goalscorers" used to finding the net. It would also give the ladies some useful practise. The goalkeepers could be swapped over so Jamie Butler would get a good opportunity to make a few saves. I don't think the game is worth the risk at present

Maldon & Tiptree seem to have a couple of useful frontmen who know how to find the net. 🙄

With the greatest of respect to the ladies who are very good when playing against each other,it must be said that goalkeeping doesn't seem to show a lot of teams in the best light...... A few examples can be found here. Billy I'm not one to jump on you like others here but this isn't doing any favors mate. The recent world cup put paid to this lingering notion (one I've been guilty of myself in the past) that female goalkeepers aren't very good. I'll say that the quality and entertainment factor of the world cup was exceptional on most levels and our overpaid 'sportsmen'at the top level could learn much from the girls. Admittedly VAR did it's best to ruin every game but that's not anyone's fault but FIFA.

Well they say balance is what you need, nothing wrong with Billy's post, there are far more blooper videos on YouTube for mens football than women's

I don't agree with os, because you used that video as "evidence" to support your argument that female goalkeepers are crap - no such equivalent argument has been made about male ones, so it's not at all comparable, plus you said just there that you still aren't convinced women make good goalkeepers. To an extent I would have agreed with you 20+ years ago (when I was one myself, and the fact that I made my school's first team should tell you all you need to know) but things really have changed. There's been a lot more investment into women's football. You should watch a bit more of it yourself, otherwise stop making sweeping judgements based on out of date information and stereotypes.

I've seen Alan Julian make worse clangers. And even Ross Worner. I've even had to endure Chuck Martini as a Sutton keeper. Trust me, we're in no position to judge goalkeepers on the basis of their gender.

You've got to have a laugh at this - haven't you ? You are spoilt for choice but my favourites are goals 3,4 and 5. (rofl

Oh Billy that reminds me of some of our defending and goalkeeping when I used to play in the Leatherhead and District Sunday League. Luckily no camera phones in those days.
On one occasion we were defending a corner and our right back, for some reason was standing on the goal Line but the wrong side of the post. When the header came in it went towards him so about 4 yards wide and he swung a boot at it and it curled inside the post. Couldn’t restart the game for about 5 mins as virtually every player was on the ground laughing

I am not going to defend Billy, but what I am going to say again is that the goal size should be reduced for women's football so that Goal Keepers get a fair / even crack of the whip. Reason: Average height of 14 yr old Male = 5ft 4 inches, which happens to be the same as an adult female. Youth football is played with goals reduced to 21ft x 7ft (6.4m x 2.13m). Female goal keepers will continue to be at a disadvantage in the game as opposed to a male GK while goals remain, 24ft x 8ft (7.32m x 2.44m). Totally unfair and believe it not probably the result of male sexism not being bothered to change the game for a little old female.

The Czech keeper with God knows how many YouTube views pulled off a couple of decent saves tonight. The thing is that if anyone actually bothers to watch a review of the World Cup that England participated in, and finished a respectable 4th, they will see that the goalkeeping was decent. Apart from the odd anomaly like Kepa Arrizbalaga for Chelsea when he scored a fantastic diving header against Ajax the general goalkeeping was pretty good. Edit: And he is the world's most expensive goalkeeper.

The goal size is a very good point.I scored hundreds of goals in school football from 1962/1970 including 114 in the year i left school after the 1969/70 season. In the first couple of seasons i played the goals weren't full size but were too big for the 'keepers. If you had the ability and skill to get it anywhere near the top corners the goalkeeper would not get to it.Nothing to do with their ability as 'keepers just that the goals were too big.

The thing is that argument doesn't really hold water when you look at match results. Women's games aren't ending up with rugby scores - in fact they don't tend to have significantly more goals than the equivalent men's games - which would suggest there's nothing wrong with the size of the goal. I'm all for adjustments where needed promote equality but there just isn't evidence that it's a problem that needs fixing.

Love it BILLY - 114 in one year! I was a GK at school boy level and really enjoyed playing in goals. Had a mate up front Andrew Peck - he scored 72 one season we all thought he was a legend. Aston Villa were interested in trailing him - but all he was keen on was playing pac man in the local chippie.....
