I am not really sure that any football match should go ahead if the area has dangerous weather conditions forecast irrespective of if the actually pitch is playable or not?
I love football but the safety of those involved should be paramount, I understand that the army were sent into Halifax today to sure up flood defenses and the local council has this on its intro page
"Emergency updates and service disruptions"
I notice not many postponements in FL today, I worry that people are put are risk just to get the money in. I saw the Millwall match on TV last week, totally unplayable conditions with winds gusting up to 60mph.

As a Villa supporter i have never heard that before. Another little known fact is that the first goal scored at Villa was by a Turk called Ali Gater from a pass by the grandfather of one of our former Managers, Peli Cann... The crowd went wild. (I'll get me Safari Hat)

(I'll get me Safari Hat) You are so nearly right! But the first goal wasn't scored by an animal - it was bagged by A Hunter! (Andrew).
