All doom and gloom on the Bromley forum!
Our form is not great, nevertheless I'm expecting a Sutton victory tomorrow!

Bromley were tipped by many to do well this season and did top the table in the autumn, but their recent form has been poor, with just one point from their last seven league games, and they've slipped out of the play-off places. Evenso, it's extraordinary to see one of their fans calling for Neil Smith to be sacked should we win tomorrow. Some people have short memories.
Bromley have won four of their last five encounters with us, although those did include the Trophy game at Hayes Lane last season in which they fielded an ineligible player.
My recommended pub in Bromley is the Star & Garter (227 High St BR1 1NZ), a Grade II listed hostelry, dating from the late Victorian period, which reopened in 2016 and has since twice been voted local CAMRA Pub of the Year. There's always a wide and interesting choice of beers here. It's about ten minutes' walk from Bromley South station (unfortunately in the opposite direction from the football ground).

Part of Bromley's success has been the fact they picked up a rich owner Robin Stanton-Gleaves, who owns 90% of the club, although to be fair to the chap he was going to Bromley games regularly as a kid, so he's not in the mould of the Stewart Donalds of this world. When you have someone like that holding the purse strings, then fan expectation can be a little high and sometimes unrealistic (and there's been a number in our own ranks who had similar unrealistic expectations under Dos calling for all manner of silly things).
As AA said, their form has been awful but one could argue that our fixture on paper is one of the easier ones they've had this year - they've lost to Barrow, Barnet, Halifax and an ever improving Wrexham within the last 6 games.
Not counting the Chesterfield game, the last game we've lost in the league (and the last league game we lost at home) was Bromley back in November. Eastmond is back from his suspension (although I've not had a chance to watch the managers pre match to know if he's fit to play or not) but no player has scored for us except Harry since New Years Day.
Let's hope the rain stops in the afternoon as there is naff all shelter for us at Hayes Lane, although at least there is no fear of the match being off (I think Eastleigh v Halifax has already been called off due to a waterlogged pitch). I did look to see if Barnet are at home - they are, but in the Trophy. I wonder whether their match (bearing in mind what happened on Tuesday and the weather we've had since then) ends up adding to their congested fixture list.

Also be aware of the parking changes. The car park in front of the ground has been enlarged but is still not very big. The big and pot holed car park which was shared with the Nuffield Health place has been barriered off from the ground although Im told you can still use it if you enter via the further Nuffield entrance. Don't forget, 3 hour maximum! A caveat, the foregoing info comes from recent visits to Cray Wanderers - I don't know if Bromley have different arrangements.

I think Eastleigh v Halifax has already been called off due to a waterlogged pitch Halifax having problems with their own pitch, leading to cancellations, now having away matches postponed too. Barnet might not be the only club with fixture congestion.

I visited the away game at Sutton late last year and thought we were fortunate to get all 3 points, posting here that your side looked too good for a relegation battle. Yes it's amazing how some of our fans are calling for the manager to be sacked. We've punched above our weight the last few seasons and the club has progressed a long way in the last few years. Very depressing that so called fans jump on the sack the manager bandwagon after a poor run when still in touch with the play offs. Hoping for a decent game tomorrow and have a feeling it will be.

Thought Bromley were pretty comfortable at ours in victory myself. We’re a better team now so hopefully we can make it a close game. Point is good, 3 would be great!

Top result. After 10 mins I thought we were in for a drubbing. We were missing Louis quite badly and I thought we went 1 up against the run of play. But we buckled down and worked superbly well as a team. Rowe had a good senior debut but wow....Tzanev. MOM by a country mile and pulled off a string of saves in 1 game that most decent keepers don't get to do in a season.
Well done lads, a hard fought 3 points.

Yep, best goalkeeping display I’ve seen at this level for years. Signing him is the biggest factor in turning round what looked like a nailed-on relegation spot for relative safety (2 more wins will do it?). Honourable mentions for Ben Goodliffe (didn’t miss a single header all afternoon in a howling gale), Will Randall (best game in amber?) and Isaac upfront - he is a definite “upgrade”. Speed, great ball holding up and gritty determination to get back as & when. Despite feeling like I’ve been sandblasted for 2+ hours, a very worthwhile afternoon

A very physical Bromley team gave our defence a good test in a strong wind. Great goalkeeping helped us come away from Hayes Lane with all 3 points. 8 points off the last play off team but with 2 games in hand. If we come away from Halifax with all 3 points then it becomes a real possibility to get up there.

Big three points today, earned from a gritty display in difficult conditions. Every game we've played this month has been affected by a gusty wind but this afternoon's was the most challenging of them all.
We were missing Louis John, Craig Eastmond and Kenny Davis, meaning that Coby Rowe made his National League debut and Rob Milsom started in midfield. Bromley had the wind behind them in the first half and the lion's share of chances, but if your recent form's been poor then confidence can be fragile and they failed to capitalise, Nik Tzanev saving from Ben Williamson then Michael Cheek. We profited from a rare spell of pressure, Milsom's perceptive pass finding Will Randall whose cross was turned home by Omar, against his former club, his first goal since Boxing Day. After a squally half-time shower the wind dropped a little, Bromley then continuing to carve out and squander the better opportunities. There were free kicks and corners aplenty but none led to another goal, a fine late tip-over from Nik preserving our clean sheet.
With that win in the bag, and four home games to come in March, there's now less pressure on Tuesday's rearranged trip to Halifax. Three points in West Yorkshire could actually see us looking up the table rather than down!

Just a thought. When Bromley next visit us could we segregate their fans in the area between the Collingwood Rd end covered terracing and the main stand. There is already a gate we could utilise. They could enter via the new turnstile next to the stand. Use the gates at the end of the stand to deny them any cover and why not put some of the practice goals in front of them to restrict their view. Oh I almost forgot. Do not let them lean on the fence, put all of our stewards in front of them and pray for rain.
