Our 2nd of 3 home games on the spin and we welcome a side who have never beaten us I believe.
Hartlepool are a funny side - they can go and beat Notts County (at Meadow Lane) and Solihull and then go and lose to Ebbsfleet. They don't score many but then don't let many in either so I think Saturday is very unpredictable. Their away form is ok and the general form is good. We're all aware of their leading scorer, but he has only scored once in 2020 (against BW a couple weeks ago) and that was his first in the league for somewhere in the region of 14 games.
We are of course still unbeaten at home (in all competitions) since 23rd November.
We can only climb as high as 13th if we win tomorrow, but that's made even more unlikely as the side above us (Bromley) host Chorley although they are the two most out of form sides in the division. If we lose and Torquay beat Boreham Wood then we drop a place. I think that combination is as unlikely as us going up a place bearing in mind how terrible Torquay are on the road.

I’m looking forward to getting away from harrowing Northern Line and enjoying the open spaces of GGL.

But the Northern Line doesn't go to Harrow...

It looks as if our game is attracting quite a few fans of other clubs whose fixtures have been called off. So we could have a better-than-anticipated attendance. Good for the club to have a bumper crowd before the almost inevitable shutter comes down.💷

Good game, in which with a bit more composure in front of goal we could have won.

Very enjoyable game. Credit to Hartlepool who came to play and to the number of their fans who made the trek.
A little disappointed that we ddn't nick it towards the end, although no points from that would have been rough on Hartlepool.

Super stuff. Great to see 2 teams both trying to win the game to the last seconds. If that’s the last game for a while, a fitting end.

And so we've still not lost to Hartlepool (in six encounters - four draws, two Sutton away wins). They were a more composed side than Torquay a week ago, but for all their patient pressing they didn't test Nik Tzanev much. Their main threat came down our left, from where overlapping right back Macauley Southam-Hales (on loan from Fleetwood) delivered several testing crosses. But our defence dealt with those. We got off to a dream start, Isaac 'Tanto' Olaofe pressing visiting keeper Ben Killip, the ball rebounding off him and into the net. Killip did redeem himself with two great saves from David Ajiboye, the first after a dazzling run on the counter-attack and the second following a corner right at the death. In between, Tanto couldn't make the most of some decent openings. Rob Milsom had a great chance when clean through but had the ball taken off his toe by Timi Odusina (who had a very good game for the visitors). Harry, pushed up front after Tanto was substituted, struck a post. Pools' goal came on the break, but wouldn't have happened if the ref had penalised them for a foul on Ben Goodliffe in the build-up. Today's point takes as to 50. Whether we have the opportunity to accrue any more remains to be seen. PS: Congrats to Dundo on reaching another appearances milestone.

Incidentally, today's attendance of 2,126 was the second highest of the season at GGL, beaten only by the 2,189 for the televised game v Yeovil.
It's an ill wind...

Little disappointed not to have won that one, esp with hitting the post so late on. For those who came down to ggl for possibly the first time today, it was a decent game to watch between 2 pretty equal sides. The atmosphere was odd however and very muted as I think most of the crowd pondered "what next?". The thing is that whilst many have their predictions, no one knows what will happen next and those who pretend they do invariably don't have a clue.
We often say "if the season ended today" but this is the first time I thought it could well do. If it has then to be fair it's been a great league campaign from a manager in his first season with limited resources. I hope it hasn't though...not just for the football but if we commence again soon it will mean that the implications for the community, country and beyond are subsiding. I hope every one of us and everyone we all know are only inconvenienced by this rather than affected. We (god willing) will all be back following the U's like many of us have for decades. When a season ends we already know when it starts up again and this is the first time in generations that we don't know. Fingers crossed it will be sooner rather than later.

It's an ill wind... .. yet Notts County’s game had 200 less than average. Our game being featured on Radio London and Bruce on TalkSport must have helped to promote the game.

They won 1 - 0 in front of a respectable number of home supporters. I'm sure they will be wanting the authorities to allow the season to continue to win some Silverware.

And our under-14 and under-15 boys' team both won their Surrey Cup Finals. Well done to all concerned on three excellent results.
