And those guys have the right of it, I would say.
I cannot see any circumstances in which this season can resume. Not that I wouldn't like it to. I just don't see a framework or a timescale.

I think this mainly refers to steps 3 and 4.
The Combined Counties (steps 5&6) have canvassed clubs on what should be done. Last I saw resuming the season at some point had most votes but abandoning it or calling the season completed had a larger combined vote.

You just have to look at the amount of games that are required to be played. Teams like SCR were a fair bit behind. Also take into account that the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup starts in July

Rovers still have 15 left and would have struggled to get them played even without the enforced break.
The CCL have canvassed all 41 clubs and 36 have responded.
11 - resume when possible 10 - declare season null and void 4 - freeze and consider current positions final 11 - freeze and do final table on points per game basis

Although it’s looking likely that all league campaigns below the EFL will not be resuming, I’d have thought the various non-league cup competitions (particularly the Trophy and Vase) could be completed whenever the new 20/21 season starts. Back in the 50s and 60s it was a regular occurrence for the latter stages of cup competitions to be held over until the following season. It would at least salvage something from the wreckage.

Maybe it will prove to be the correct decision, but how that decision can be reached without any knowledge of when sporting events can actually restart is beyond me.
Am I just being cynical here, or have the FA drawn their line in the sand at the point where the clubs concerned don't have the funds to risk litigation, whereas the likes of Liverpool, Leeds etc would sue the pants off them?
Also, that's a confirmed reduction of games in a season for those who rely most on their attendance figures to survive. End of the day you could play out an entire EPL season behind closed doors and financially they'd cope.
Or....is this simply the FA testing the water?

Perhaps the FA are playing a waiting game so that it will end up being general Governmental ruling (or advice)that renders the season unfinishable. Which, I imagine, forestalls litigation. Or, as much as that can be forestalled. That's pretty much what I'd do, if I were them and wanted to cover my arse.
The real wild card would seem to be the Premier League, as the financial implications of not finishing the season at that level are stunning to consider. I know the financial implications are very, very important at lower levels, but I mean the sheer amount of money involved.

The Chairman of South Shields FC is already talking about taking legal action. When the season was suspended his club were 12 points clear at the top of the Northern Premier League. What's now proposed would deny them promotion to National League North this year. Their chance might not come round again.

What about Jersey Bulls who had won all their games this season? I think that there a reorganisation of the CCL with 4 teams being promoted from the 1st Division so maybe they'll go up anyway.

I know it's tough on teams with points totals that look like a promotion would have been a near certainly for them. But how do you promote them if the team in the bottom position of the league above are not mathematically 'down'?
Or, in our division, do you relegate Ebbsfleet, who have recently been making a real fight of staying up? There's no reason to assume, had the season been continued, that they couldn't have got out of the relegation zone.
