OK so there is no REAL football, but the furloughed millions have turned to human kind's best time sink - FM20! So how are Sutton doing in YOUR FM save? In mine they proved to be a decent side, finishing 8th in 19/20 and losing to my all conquering Barnet side in the FA Trophy Final. A season of mid table consolidation followed in 20/21, then the heartbreak of a 2nd placed finish and missing out on promotion by just -2GD to Fylde despite a late charge which saw them win their final six league games, then naturally falling to defeat in their first play off round, losing to eventual winners Solihull. But wait, 22/23 saw the U's finally break their playoff hoodoo and gain promotion. Two years of struggle ending in relegation followed, but the U's are unbowed - riding high in the VNL, now a fully professional outfit with a GRASS playing surface once more Of our existing squad, only Aaron Jarvis remains. Tommy Wright was a good servant, he is currently unattached but looks like he could still do a job. Matt Gray was poached for Gillingham and is managing in League 1, while Ben Goodliffe went on to enjoy a few seasons in League Football but is currently plying his trade with Fylde, who are back in a distinctly different looking VNL.

I am playing CM 1999/2000! :-) 99/00 and 00/01 we finished 19th.. I am about to start the 3rd season and targeting a mid table spot! :-) The only players remaining are Gareth Howels, Gwynne Berry, Barry Laker, Sam Winston and Nko Ekoku!

I seem to recall laker was pretty solid in that version, I think I bought him for another team once. I also recall it being a slog with Sutton in that edition as they were every bit as ill equipped for conference football as IRL.
