I don't see how anyone can talk of the new season starting in September, there is so much still to play out with this virus. I have heard of reduced ground capacities, but the issue is distancing between people, how do you police that in a NL ground?
The facts are that attempts to open up all over the world are just triggering new waves of infections.
I am just not sure we are anywhere near saying football comes back with crowds..

As someone who contracted the virus in mid March, was admitted to hospital with breathing difficulties and tested positive before coming home with pneumonia, as well as someone who has lost a family member to the virus I feel able to contribute here with a degree of qualified understanding. The fact is we have to resume some sort of normality at some point. Maybe September is too early but we can’t give in to the virus by abandoning our every day lives and the things we value - watching football is one of those things for me.
Th original strategy and objective as laid out by the Govt was not to eradicate the disease. It was to flatten the curve and protect the NHS - both measures are, at the moment, apparently achieved. Moreover the excess mortality rate is close to zero. If we are to wait to resume doing the things we love until the infection rate or even the mortality rate is zero then we will never again do anything vaguely social.
Life is a risk, getting in the car to drive to GGL carries inherent risk and we mitigate by having safer cars better roads etc. If we need to mitigate the disease by insisting on face masks to watch football let’s do that but please can we get back to some sort of normality ASAP.

The PM has announced a plan to have spectators back in stadia from October after various pilots have taken place. This announcement may well have an impact on the FA and League in terms of the starting of the new season.

I believe Boreham Wood’s season tickets are well priced. For them is makes sense to reward regulars and then sting away fans.

That is sad news. I have been very lucky, I don’t know anyone, family, friends or work colleagues who had the virus.
