Congrats to Harrogate Town on a fine win in the play off final which was certainly an enjoyable watch.
Now we know all the teams in the top division for next season we can await the fixtures with interest.

For what it's worth, next season's National League will have even more of a southern bias. We're losing four northern clubs (Barrow, Harrogate, Fylde, Chorley) and only one from the south (Ebbsfleet). We're gaining only two from the north (Altrincham and King's Lynn - and KL isn't even proper north) and three southern clubs (Stevenage, Wealdstone, Weymouth).
The situation would change a bit if Macclesfield come down instead of Stevenage (which depends on the outcome of the appeal against Macc's points deduction). Otherwise we're looking at a composition of nine clubs from the north (and that's stretching it to include Solihull and King's Lynn) and fifteen from the south.

Am I right in thinking Harrogate have a 3G pitch?
Presumably it'll be have to be ripped up for next season.

At a time when football club finances are being stretched like never before, it's a real shame that Harrogate have to rip up their plastic pitch.

That's not good news Stewart, and sadly, I very much doubt it'll be the last sort of statement being issued over the next few weeks.

They might need to move quickly to get a grass pitch ready for the new season! Listening to Radio York's excellent match coverage yesterday, they had an interview with Harrogate's manager (Simon Weaver) and he said the process of replacing their 3G pitch with a grass one would begin in 2 days i.e. on Tuesday 4 August. Incidentally, he's the longest serving manager in the top five tiers of English football by a country mile - over 11 years (since 20 May 2009). Wycombe's Gareth Ainsworth is a distant 2nd with 7 years (since 24 September 2012). Next season will mark Harrogate Town's debut season in the football league, having been a non-league side throughout their history. With a stadium capacity of 5000 and average gates this season of around 1300 they will be by far the smallest club in League Two. Just goes to show what a well-run side with a long-term community based vision can achieve. In these respects, they remind me of a certain other club...

They do in Irving Weaver - Simons Father who’s bankrolled them since taking over. I wish them well Harrogate - enjoyed both trips up there with Sutton, the 2-2 draw on the opening day of the 2018/19 season and again in September even though we lost 2-0. Notable difference to the ground when we visited in September with the installation of 2-3 new seated stands.

Last season they had some gates of under a 1000.

I looked at several sites for League Two average attendances in the 2019/20 season, including soccerstats.com and footballwebpages.co.uk, all of which had Morecambe's average gate down at 2264. They also had a number of gates significantly higher than that. For example, their website confirms a gate of 2872 for their home game against Crewe Alexandra in February.
