If they do manage to convert from 3G to grass pitch by Saturday 10 October, that's an impressive turnaround.

I believe that next season Sutton will be the joint (with Solihull) 8th longest serving club in the National League Premier - not a bad achievement considering some of the bigger/better funded sides that we have seen slide down the pyramid in the last few years. Some of the 7 that have been in the league longer than us have had some very narrow escapes over the last few years as well (particularly Aldershot). Not sure who has spent the most consecutive seasons in the National League but suspect that it is Wrexham (12 years).

Maybe I am the only one not really looking forward to the new season?
Not just from a selfish 'our club' point of view but for football at our level in general. I can clearly see revenues massively down, many clubs in trouble, and proceeding with a new season with the rules as they seem they will be, does not sit well with me.
The question is not if teams will fold, but how many?

The question is not if teams will fold, but how many? I don't think we know where we will be in terms of society in October. Obviously clubs will have to cut their cloth accordingly. It could end up being a great leveller or a great divider. We're either in a position where we try and salvage something from this and return to playing football, or we just pack up completely. It seems like it's the former and whilst some clubs will inevitably suffer (and this is not just about people through the door, but less sponsorship available and some clubs having unsustainable funding streams being taken away from them) it's vitally important for football at our level to resume. One thing that won't have changed will be the passion supporters have for their clubs. That's something this virus couldn't kill off.

I don’t really have any idea of the financial situation at the club but could the fact that we hire out the 3G pitch help with the obvious shortfall in gate receipts ?
I think all clubs at all levels will be affected for at least the next year
If fans do return to grounds though surely the local community should be encouraged to support their local team more ?
For example there are many workers in Sutton not going back to their Offices in central London. That worker might support Spurs or some other s**t club and might also not want to travel all the way to Tottenham for a match. Maybe they might want to come to Sutton instead ?

I must take umbrage at that mention of an esteemed club, if it had been one of the SW London clubs, and I don’t mean one that has just been promoted then I would agree most favourably as the “workers” would see how a real football team plays and probably enjoy the experience most heartily.(That’s as well as not paying the earth for the privilege)

Maybe I am the only one not really looking forward to the new season? I’m 68 years old, obese and diabetic, but I can’t wait for the season to start. No football for 4 months, the longest I’ve gone without! I also have memberships at Spurs and Arsenal so I can watch the European games. The only thing that concerns me is the trains coming home which obviously are packed out. I know some people who have been going to Step 7 pre-season games, much to the annoyance of the FA. But when I see the beaches packed out and the pub forecourts jammed, I can’t see why I shouldn’t go to a football match at non-league level. I sometimes think the FA stands for what they know about non-league football.

I'm struggling to keep up with which team is playing in what division for next season. Bury, Macclesfield, Stevenage, Barnsley, Wigan, Charlton and Sheffield Wednesday all to name a few it seems!
OK, some have now been confirmed but I've never seen anything like it.
