On a more positive note, Dagenham & R, Barnet, Boreham Wood, King's Lynn, Solihull, Stockport, Chorley, Darlington and Marine all overcame Football League opposition to progress to the 2nd round. Game of the 1st round was surely Crawley's 6-5 win at Torquay (after extra time). I watched the Marine game. They were simply outstanding and belied their lowly league status. Colchester's equaliser reminded me of Tranmere's winner a few years ago. Massive foul throw that went unseen. Thankfully justice prevailed.

Now it's very unlikely that our league programme will be affected by the FA Cup. The only opponent left in who we are due to play on an FA Cup day is Stockport, and they would have to reach the Quarter Finals for that to happen!

Dos's good fortune with the draws this season continues unabated: Horsham, Chatham Town, Bath City, Cray Valley Paper Mills and now Marine.

At least three non-League clubs should make it through to the 3rd round, as the 2nd round includes
Stockport v Yeovil Marine v Havant & W Canvey Island v Boreham Wood
A certain Mr Doswell might fancy his club's chances.

Lincoln got to the quarterfinals in 2017 as a National League club. And of course we would have been their opponents if we had beaten Arsenal in the previous round.

I enjoyed watching the Crawley v Leeds game on BBC earlier today with Crawley brilliant in causing a big upset recording a 3-0 win over their Premier League opposition.
Jonathan Pearce was on comms (still brilliant by the way) and he managed to name-drop Sutton 3 times over the course of the game - twice when referring to Leeds' lower league victims in the Cup over recent years (amongst other teams). The other occasion Pearce mentioned the U's was a little more detailed and referenced the infamous 1970's game alluding to the strength of the Leeds side at the time and how the Leeds players provided a guard of honour to the Sutton team at the full-time whistle as they were so impressed with the U's performance despite the 6-0 scoreline.

Stockport are doing well against West Ham. 0-0 with only around 10 minutes left.
Im not watching the game, keeping up with the BBC live text but apparently the most entertaining thing about the first half was a firework display in the 15th minute!

Reminiscent of the last time West Ham played non-league opposition in the FA Cup in 1998 against Emley. I was at that match at Upton Park, and I thought Emley were the better side. Gave them a well-deserved standing ovation at the end. We scraped a 1-0 win then as well, I seem to recall.

I just checked and it was 2-1 for West Ham. I maintain that the non-league side were the better team on the day though.

I seem to remember West Ham playing Kidderminster too. Back in around 1995. I may be wrong there. I think it was Tony Cottee who scored in a 1-0 win. You will be able to correct me!

Definitely 1990's but I think it was a bit earlier than 1995. I didn't go to that game though. Will definitely need to raise our game in the 4th round against Doncaster!
