Comprehensive victory against the bogey side. Could have been far worse for a maidenhead team who look in the same form that saw them sliding towards relegation last season before an entirely unjust reprieve at the expense of fleet. I for one will enjoy watching them struggle if it pans out that way. Bouzanis could be a real weapon, his kicking is as good as I've seen at this level. Great to see the heed 8 getting the run around after his shocking theatrics getting Omar sent off last term. But I maintain non league football without fans is a waste of everyone's time no matter how much I enjoyed seeing us finally vanquish the maiden. Stream peaked at around 333,no doubt all season ticket holders. Just in case anyone's under any lingering illusion streaming is of any value to anyone except die hard fans I could be wrong, but I reckon the relatively low streaming figure for today's game is down to the fact that so many FA cup 2nd qualifying round matches took place today, some of which involved 7th tier and below sides and therefore eligible for supporters to attend... An excellent win for us today, I said earlier that I was "quietly optimistic" but even I didn't think we'd win 3-0. The clean sheet for me was particularly impressive, given a makeshift back four featuring Easty, compounded by Barden's injury in the first half (I hope he's okay!) necessitating debutant Simpson coming on. Wyatt was man of the match for me, rock solid in defence with one tackle in particular in the 2nd half preventing an otherwise certain Maidenhead goal. To play this well in an empty ground bodes well for the rest of the season...

I wish to withdraw my previous posting in shame and say that we did look a striking threat today. A case of the reverse commentators curse. Well done lads. Will the club publish a breakdown of those "attending" via stream. I'm not a season ticket holder so brought my pass and a programme , as every little helps. Only criticism of the stream- could they please announce the teams or have a graphic. I ended up playing bingo marking off the two sides from the picture as I spotted a shirt number, but as it was I missed one of the Maidenhead team so according to my programme they only had 10 men- perhaps that's why we won so easily!!

Thought we were excellent. Tobi looked good and his partnership with Omar showed very promising signs. Solid performance.

Law of Sod working overtime. We actually beat Maidenhead and we’re not allowed to watch it.

Always nice to see Sutton 2nd, even after one match.
Damn Eastleigh eh?!
Well done lads in what must have been strange circumstances.

An opening day win watched at home on a screen certainly didn't generate the thrill that it would have done had we actually been in attendance. I know that quite a few GGL regulars chose to watch games at clubs lower down the pyramid where spectators were allowed into the grounds. Such are the times we now live in.
At least we got a monkey off our back. This was our first victory against Maidenhead in eleven meetings (excluding the abandoned game at York Road), and we'd lost all five previous encounters at this level. Today's win reverses last season's result in this fixture.
The Magpies had their moments, clipping the post early on and with Josh Coley a threat down their right. But once we'd gone 2-0 up I thought we were in control, despite missing our two first-choice centre backs; Craig Eastmond is versatile enough to fill in effectively. The third goal saw Callum Kealy open his National League account, while another sub, the evergreen Craig Dundas, made his 550th appearance for Sutton.
Eastleigh's stunning 5-1 victory at Barnet puts them top of the embryonic table, but we're nicely tucked in just behind.

Very pleased with the win and we will get better with more matches under our belt. Thought Maidenhead were poor and maybe we should have had a few more goals. Hope Barden is not out for too long after his head injury and our other centre backs are recovered enough to play soon. 2nd in the table as stated but top at half time !
Away match at the Shots on Tuesday and it would be nice to win at their place again. Obviously rather be at the matches but i will be streaming every Sutton game until we are allowed back in.

Livestream didn’t work for me but listened to the audio instead. I was trying on an iPad and an iPhone rather than a lap top, any tech savvy supporters know if that might be the issue. I can log in but it tells me to wait or reload in again. I tried with and without using UK VPNs Thanks

Worked well on my iPhone, not so much on my laptop. Hoping might be able to get it working on the tv. Pretty useless with tech so need to figure that one out!

Final stats, 453 watched all or part of the game, of which 117 purchased a one-off access code.

Obviously pleased with the result but is it only me who really cannot get enthused about this season whilst we cannot go?I really am trying but just isn't happening.I suppose the fact that I can watch Worcester live is affecting things(although they are awful!!).

We. Beat. Maidenhead. Even typing the words I still can't believe we've finally put them to the sword. I don't recall a more comprehensive first game of the season since 2005 when we beat....erm Maidenhead at home by 3 goals.
Slightly disappointed it was only 3. Maidenhead were the better side I thought for the first 15min but as soon as we scored they fell apart. A goal that should have stood and woeful defending wouldn't have flattered us at 5-0. I'm not going to get too excited as I don't think we will play many teams poorer than that this season.
And to do all of this with playing most of the game with only 1 first choice defender. Although he didn't have a huge amount to do I think the new keeper is a big upgrade on Bulter, especially in the kicking department and Sho Shiva doesn't really stop running does he. Who would have thought that Kealy would score with his first touch of the game and who would have money on Dundo getting our first yellow if the season.
Great start for us. 47 points from safety and our longest stay at this level (I know I know). Top work boys.

Final stats, 453 watched all or part of the game, of which 117 purchased a one-off access code. Got to admit i'm baffled by that. Why did so many of our season ticket holders not take up the option of watching the game and just 117 others which include Maidenhead supporters . Had the stream running into my laptop then transferred by HDMI on to the TV.

Also, as many have mentioned, a livestream is really an approximation of the game. There will be many (including season ticket holders who post on here) who won't want to watch it or chose the audio only commentary via mixlr so they could do other things at the same time.

I think they’re very encouraging viewing numbers. Well done all. Imagine we will do pretty well out of someone like Notts County.
