London in tier 2, so we should have football back at GGL on the 5th December. Can clubs in tier 3 play away to clubs in tier 2? Yes. If they can play in a national lockdown there's no reason why they can't in tier 3.

I am in Kent, I am not even allowed to fart !
TBH, It does not seem that complicated to me, its 2000 subject to Social Distancing rules, so I guess the capacity will be similar to what DF planned for back in August, was it somewhere @1000?

By my reckoning, the following Conference clubs should meet the Government criteria for fans to return from 2 December - Aldershot, Barnet, Bromley, Boreham Wood, Dagenham, Eastleigh, Kings Lynn, Maidenhead, Sutton, Torquay, Wealdstone, Weymouth, Woking, Yeovil.
Longer wait for - Altrincham, Stockport, Chesterfield, Notts County, Dover, Halifax, Hartlepool, Solihull and Wrexham.

Will be a bit of a wait for me too. I'm also in Kent, so Tier 3 for me.
What baffles me though is before Lockdown in the west of Kent we were in Tier 1. Now after a 4 week lockdown we've been plonked into Tier 3 when it is way over to the east of Kent in places like Medway, Swale and Thanet where we have the high cases.
Apparently it has to be the county as a whole which is placed into tiers but over in Berkshire we have Slough on it's own in Tier 3 but the rest of that county has been pigeonholed into Tier 2.
Anyone care to explain this? Because I can't make head nor tail of it!

Anyone care to explain this? Because I can't make head nor tail of it! Deep breath... Slough is a unitary authority so (in local government terms) separate from the rest of Berkshire. There is one unitary authority in Kent, Medway (Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham), which is also in Tier 3. But Swale (Faversham, Sittingbourne, Sheppey) is even more of a Covid hotspot, and comes under Kent County Council. The way it works (rightly or wrongly!) is that this then determines the tier for the whole county outside the unitary authority.

Sounds like your deep breath was needed.
Hopefully I didn't sound a bit thick in my post but the scenario did confuse me somewhat.
Thanks for the clarification, as absurd as it sounds.
Fancy a job in Government PR mate?

Fancy a job in Government PR mate? That's roughly what I used to do before I retired! My brother still works in local government (in the West Midlands), which is why I know a bit about the subject.

The biggest risk to me here in Kent is Boris and his mates who remain the only people to have resided in my post code infected with it.
I think 26 London Boroughs currently have higher rates than my town has.

My town is Tunbridge Wells. Pleasant place, convivial even. Anyway, it matters not one jot. I wouldn't dream of sneaking over to a Tier 2 placed city/town/borough just to watch a game of football.
I live alone, which means that I'm low risk. Although I have a job in transport which means I am in contact with people all over Europe. Work that one out
Anyway, come New Year's Eve I will raise a glass and thank whoever I want to thank that 2020 can finally go and do one.

I think there is a misunderstanding about how the Tiers were decided. From what I'm aware of, it's not just based on the rates of infection, but also what the direction of travel is and also the local NHS capacity. For example London rates may well be higher than some places in Kent, but by default, the resources the NHS in London will be more significant than smaller towns. In terms of direction of travel, there are only 5 boroughs in London with climbing rates, the other 27 (including Sutton) are all falling. As the Aleman implied, the majority of Kent is actually seeing rising cases, so it will tick two of the 3 boxes for "Very High".
Remember too, it's being reviewed every 2 weeks, so things could change and there could be a possibility that London goes into Tier 3 before Xmas and Kent shifts into Tier 2 which will make a lot of this conversation redundant as no one will be allowed to a Sutton game again. Let's hope people don't go nuts and it doesn't happen.

Can’t see us Kent based U’s being moved down into tier 2: like the other Kent based correspondents, I live towards the west of the county in Tonbridge & Malling which is nowhere near the levels further north & east in the county. We went into lockdown basically as a tier 1 and leave as a tier 3 as the evidence from my eyes is that you wouldn’t know a lockdown is on given traffic levels and people out & about. Cafes and pubs in West Malling that were shut in the summer have reopened in autumn, albeit as busy takeaways. I suppose I’ll have to follow the travel rules & keep away from GGL, which will be for me extremely frustrating. Hope the SUFC feed for us ST holders will still continue
