So after a ten-day break Sutton find themselves back in action this weekend against local rivals Bromley in the final round of qualifying of the FA Cup, incidentally Bromley also didn’t play at the weekend with Altrincham recording a number of positive Covid tests causing that fixture to be postponed. Not a tie any of us would have picked I’m sure - this will be a tough encounter. Bromley have extinguished our cup hopes twice in the past 15 years or so - most recently in 2011/12 where we lost 0-1 at GGL and before that in 2004/05 which I have vague memories of - an exciting 2-2 draw at GGL before we slipped out of the cup 2-1 in the replay. A link for stream info for the game is here www.suttonunited.net/product/sutton-united-v-bromley-fa-cup-4th-qualifying-round-october-2020-live-stream-pass/Come on the U’s!

Notts County have withdrawn from the FA Cup due to Coronavirus going through their squad. Barnet have had 10 people affected, and Peter Beadle has tested positive. Very responsible of them. They won't be the last sadly... From County News: Covid-19 update: FA Cup withdrawal Two more of our players have tested positive for Covid-19 and as a result we have withdrawn from the Emirates FA Cup and postponed our upcoming Vanarama National League matches away to FC Halifax Town and Aldershot Town. After four members of our squad tested positive for the virus last week, we scheduled another round of testing this Wednesday to identify any further infections. Unfortunately this has resulted in two more positive results and, following consultation with the FA and National League’s medical officers, we have taken the difficult but responsible decision not to travel to King’s Lynn Town on Saturday and to temporarily halt our league campaign. King’s Lynn will be awarded a bye to the first round and our trips to Halifax and Aldershot will be rearranged for later in the season. We would like to thank each club for their cooperation and understanding. Our chief executive Jason Turner said: “Our thoughts are with the players affected by the virus, who are all receiving the best possible care and support to ensure they return to us safe and well. “Naturally, we are incredibly disappointed to withdraw from the FA Cup – a competition, as past winners, we have a wonderful association with – but with only 14 available players and several positions we’re now unable to cover, on top of the clear risk of more infections coming to light in the coming days, it is only right that we take decisive action to cease training and playing for the time being. “I am hugely proud of the way the club has conducted itself throughout the pandemic and would once again like to pay tribute to our owners, Chris and Alex Reedtz, for continuing to fund regular testing despite this not being mandatory, thus ensuring we are doing all we can to protect our players, staff and the wider public. “Chris and Alex’s diligence has drawn huge praise from the authorities and allowed us to take informed decisions since the outbreak in March. With some of our infected players not displaying symptoms, our efforts have probably prevented us from unknowingly and irresponsibly spreading the virus to any of our aforementioned opponents. “With no matches now scheduled until our home fixture against Stockport County on Wednesday 11 November, our focus is on minimising a further outbreak within the club, devising a return-to-play protocol for our affected players and helping our fit players maintain their conditioning remotely to ensure we’re ready to continue our strong start to the season next month.” Our manager, Neal Ardley, added: “While I’m devastated that I won’t have the opportunity to put together a cup run for the club this season, the safety of my players, staff, the opposition and their families have to be the priority at this terrible time. “As we’re all aware, it’s taken some people many months to recover from this illness and we therefore need to tread very carefully when it comes to rehabilitating our affected players. “This is a new situation for everyone and I’m in close dialogue with our medical department to ensure we have careful and considered procedures in place. “I’m hugely proud to represent a club that cares so strongly about its employees and community and I would like to join Jason in thanking our owners for their unwavering commitment to our safety.” Club News

Given that they played against Maidenhead with 4 out having tested positive I personally think it was extremely irresponsible of them to play that game (I bet they wish now too that they hadn't) and they had no choice but to call the FA Cup game off. Given Nottingham's extremely high number of positive tests (although I accept that the players may not reside in the city) I was amazed when they decided to go ahead with the Maidenhead game. Absolute stupidity. It was always likely that more would test positive.

What's the situation with streaming on this match? Being that it's FA Cup and wouldn't be covered by a season ticket?

It actually shows up on the webpage when it confirms your order, so (if you haven't bought yours yet) you can make a note of it before you even leave the page, just in case the email doesn't come through for whatever reason.

PRINTED PROGRAMME KLAXONThe programme for our Emirates FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round tie at home to Bromley is now available, and for this week only we are offering two options of programme. We have done a strictly limited print run of a 48 page hard copy version which is on sale at £3 plus P&P and can be ordered online, or can be bought in person from the club office, although please note the club office is not open this evening. If buying in person please pay by card or bring the exact £3 amount in cash. Alternatively there is a reduced digital version of the programme which can be downloaded free. While the current situation is in place it is intended from now to produce only a digital programme for free download for home games, so this could be the only game this season for which we are producing a printed edition. To buy or download the programme click here.

I've just noticed from the club website that "due to FA regulations the live stream will not be available to any viewers outside the UK" - is this purely for FA cup ties, or does this restriction also apply to our league matches?
