Hi, A quick message to any away supporters. Please do not attempt to buy tickets for this match.
If any spectators in the stadium are obviously away fans they will be ejected and no refunds will be given. Please note that the licences for all clubs to admit spectators are dependant on a number of factors, and if away fans attend fixtures it could adversely affect the permission for BOTH clubs to admit spectators going forward. All clubs have worked very hard to get to this stage but we are still in the middle of a public health emergency and so it is important that everyone respects the rules.
We would, on the same lines, appeal to all U's fans NOT to travel to Stockport on Saturday.

For those attending tomorrow I would make the most of it, Sutton cases up 62% in the past week and St Helier is near capacity - I expect London to go into Tier 3 next week. Its frustrating as I think gaining 2 matches will end up losing 6 for fans to attend.

Here are the .gov 7 day rolling average figures (up 62.1%) : coronavirus.data.gov.uk/search?postcode=sm11aaDon't get me wrong I don't think the club had any choice but to open up to fans, but it will all end in Tiers. Don't take this as croticim of the club rather one of what I think was another crazy decision by the government.

Any results on the 16th will not be based on football 10 days before. I don’t see how you can say gaining two could cost 6 games unless I’m missing your point and you are just suggesting we should have stayed in full lockdown for longer. This is why we did not see a decrease until the 3rd week of the 2nd lockdown. Unfortunately it may be some people “left” lockdown in advance of December 2nd or never took any real notice to start with.

I do understand, from other posts, that you personally would not feel safe to return to the ground at the moment. And that you consider the return of fans to the ground at this juncture to be an ill advised decision by the Govt. Nonetheless, we are all following rules, here, just as we were when the rules were more restrictive. Those who favour more restriction than we (currently) have are not, automatically, making a wiser judgement call. And I think your specific argument is tenuous, to say the least. We've waited a long time to get back. A call has been made. Respectfully; please don't rain on us.

Don't get me wrong I am desperate to go back, and I don't blame anyone but the government for us needing to wait so long. Just 21 days social distancing a good track and trace would mean we could all go back to near normal, but after 9 months we are no further down the road. The vaccine will help big time, and pandemics do go through and we will all be back sometime next year in full. I do not wish to rain on anyone's parade. And I don't wish to hijack a football thread so apologies.
