Fair assessment of the game from Ian Allinson (who, before becoming the St Albans gaffer, had taken Boreham Wood up to the National League). Was he though a little harsh on his goalkeeper?

Anyone know when the draw for the next round is? I know there are 6 outstanding ties to be played, including Bromley v Hemel (Hemel won their 2nd round match on Saturday)

No he didn't. It was Beautyman. The shot I saw palmed away for their keeper for a corner was from our number 21, anywhere but at the keeper and that looked in to me. PS. Having now had the benefit of seeing the match highlights I can see you are absolutely right, Del. It was Harry's goalscoring opportunity, not Callum's. My mistake.

Everything happens quite quickly and without any replays we often miss things.

Jesus that commentary was quite awful. The summing up was incredible. Had the guy forgotten how the first hour of that match had gone? How many saves had Dean B made? And had he been watching old Camberwick Green episodes prior to that? Mrs Honeyman must have left her baby at home!!
The guy on the official feed on Saturday was far more observant, balanced and researched than this guy. A certain comedy value to it I suppose but glad I didn't pay to listen to that.

I remember when we were in the South and played Aldershot lost 1-0, we had bags of play, but its about having that quality in front of goal, and that bit extra at the back. We didn't concede and in truth controlled most of the match even when not in possession. I love the football in the South, more space makes for a prettier game, but the National is tougher. The better side won the match, although St Albans did give a good account of themselves and will have learnt a lot from it.

They created next to nothing. Can't recall Dean having to make a save. They were probably poor because we were excellent. Oxford City look a far superior side to them and I expect there are plenty of other sides better than them too such as Dorking.

Well, according to the commentator we were lucky to win, but I find it difficult to take seriously the opinion of someone who referred to two of our players as Ben Good Life and Harry Honeyman!

He couldn't even get "Joe Bearden" right. Local radio DJ with stupid bias. The good thing of course is that is makes no difference to the result.

Commentary:
I never comment on anyone’s commentary as I believe it’s always easy to criticise when your not behind the mic 🎙.
Live commentary on any sport takes years of practice and dedication.
After listening to the dynamic duo of ST ALBANS tv I sat down and thought about when I started out in November 2000 and what I sounded like.
All I’ll say - if they want a chat about commentary give me a call 📞.
No 7 to No 10 and it’s No 99 who scores.....
