Q for everyone: As a fan do you prefer points in the bag 💼 or games in hand ✋. (Will be a great help in my football ⚽️ work). 🙏 Has to be points.

Depends on the circumstances. Psychologically good to have games in hand when you are ahead but they effectively become irrelevant if you cannot be caught. Better to have the points in all other circumstances as you may not get any points from your GIH.

I guess a good scenario is leading the table by 4 points with games in hand

What's this pub team in 'Surrey' thing? Sutton is in Sarf London in it We play in the Surrey Senior Cup and are affiliated to the Surrey FA so I guess we are a "Surrey team". The ground is located within Greater London but that subject is a whole other debate

Historically Sutton was in Surrey though the club affiliated to both London and Surrey FAs. London was the secondary affiliation.
The club ditched London after the 83/4 season as the League Cup had added to the ever burgeoning fixture list.
That and our generally awful record in the competition (although unbeaten in finals - a grand total of two). Some of the refereeing left much to be desired. One in particular who bore an unfortunate resemblance to an infamous former German leader. He was truly awful and there were a number of controversies surrounding his decision making. Barking, Enfield and Cheshunt spring to mind.

As the incumbent Chancellor (just about!) she can't be classified as a former leader just yet...

What's this pub team in 'Surrey' thing? Sutton is in Sarf London in it Pub Team is correct because the meeting to amalgamate two Sutton teams into Sutton United took place in the Robin Hood pub - which has a wall plaque to commemorate it. Some of us oldies still like the 'from Surrey' bit also. They can steal the county from under you! The house I grew up in was in Carshalton Beeches, Surrey, which wasn't in the Borough of Sutton (& Cheam). The school I went to, Wallington CGS, was in Wallington, Surrey and issued exercise books with Surrey County Council on the cover, and that wasn't in the Borough of Sutton either. However without either the house or school moving Surrey was removed from under them - and from under Gander Green Lane - all of which are now in the London Borough of Sutton. "Stone me!" as a former resident of West Sutton (aka East Cheam) was wont to remark.

When you put it like that, "pub team from Surrey" is technically correct because it was Surrey when the club was founded and that is therefore where it is "from" even though it no longer falls within the boundaries of that county
