What's this pub team in 'Surrey' thing? Sutton is in Sarf London in it Personally I prefer the term ‘pub team from Greater London suburbia’. I prefer Premier Surrey football team. Wembley, Stanmore, Harrow and Ashford all in Middlesex and still known and put on post as such, just like Cheam is in Surrey.

Culinary delights it hasn't. In fact Oohah would have suffered the most pointless demise had he been hit by a falling menu board on a match day Saturday because the menu consists of crusty rolls, Ham or Cheese but not Ham and Cheese. Usually gone by 1.00pm. Perhaps that explains the near accident - as soon as the last roll has been sold the menu board self-descends. For as short a period as the landlord thinks he can get away with during the Xmas period the pub serves Young's Winter Warmer. It is the Robin Hood's main attraction.

I haven't been in there for a while, but if they still serve bottles of Young's Double Chocolate Stout then that's the main selling point in my book.

I'm looking at "maximum points" - so if each team won all their matches, where would they be? (again presume all points related to Dover get binned, and games appropriately Sutton - 15 games left (45) + 57 = 102 Hartlepool - 12 games left (36) + 53 = 89 Torquay - 15 games left (45) + 48 (Dover adjusted) = 93 Stockport - 15 games left (45) + 44 (Dover adjusted) = 89 Wrexham - 13 games left (39) + 44 (Dover adjusted) = 83 Notts County - 17 games left (51) + 45 = 96 Bromley - 15 games left (45) + 41 (Dover adjusted) = 86 Hailfax - 14 games left (42) + 43 = 85 Eastleigh - 15 games left (45) + 43 = 88 Boreham Wood - 13 games left (39) + 39 (Dover adjusted) = 78 Chesterfield - 16 games left (48) + 39 = 87 Maidenhead - 17 games left (51) + 39 = 90 Of course teams play each other so it's impossible for more than one side to win all their remaining games, but it gives you an idea of what's mathematically possible. If we took 86 as a benchmark to win the league, Halifax, BW and Wrexham can't get there, whilst other sides could just scrape over that line. It also shows how teams like Maidenhead are not out of the hunt yet by any means! I went through the fixtures and I thought that all of our rivals would struggle to get over 80 points. Especially with the number of games that notts county have left. They play tues sat for rest of season so no wriggle room if a match is called off due to covid...

Does anyone know when the Dover situation will be resolved? It's not fair on anyone. Points have to be deducted from all those who have got points against them. Luckily we haven't played them yet.

I think you're right. It isn't fair. I know Dover are taking legal advice and have a number of hearings coming up (the first will be regarding the match they failed to turn up to against us) but I think that's as far as anyone knows

It really isn't fair and this needs to be clarified asap.

After last night's games
Sutton - 14 games left (42) + 60 = 102 (1.79PPG) Hartlepool - 11 games left (33) + 56 = 89 (2.63PPG) Torquay - 14 games left (42) + 51 (Dover adjusted) = 93 (2.42PPG) Stockport - 14 games left (42) + 47 (Dover adjusted) = 89 (2.71PPG) Wrexham - 13 games left (39) + 44 (Dover adjusted) = 83 (3.15PPG) Notts County - 16 games left (48) + 46 = 94 (2.43 PPG) Bromley - 14 games left (42) + 41 (Dover adjusted) = 83 (3.14PPG) Hailfax - 14 games left (42) + 43 = 85 (3.0 PPG) Eastleigh - 14 games left (42) + 43 = 85 (3.0 PPG) Boreham Wood - 13 games left (39) + 39 (Dover adjusted) = 78 (3.54PPG) Chesterfield - 15 games left (45) + 42 = 87 (2.86PPG) Maidenhead - 17 games left (51) + 39 = 90 (2.70PPG)
Taking 85 points as a benchmark, last night's results to me knocked out Bromley and Eastleigh as title contenders (along with BW, Halifax and Wrexham). Hartlepool, Chesterfield and Stockport are getting close to not having enough games to reach that figure. A couple of draws for those may make it impossible.
EDIT - added points per games to reach 85 points. For info Sutton need to average out 2.02 PPG to reach 85 points. We're currently on 2.14PPG

Of course Stockport play Hartlepool this weekend. It will be very unlikely that the loser can go on and win the league. A draw doesn’t suit either. Interesting game.

Agree on Dover too. Even if they have to go through a process regarding the action they take against them it, shouldn’t be difficult to conclude the null and void bit and put out updated tables.

Notts County have Hartlepool, Torquay and Wrexham to play away and of course us at home. Teams are going to take points of each other so I reckon if we can win half of our remaining games (obviously drawing a few too) then the title is ours. Of course one of those teams could go on a winning run. If I were to pick one team I'd go with Stockport. They were probably the best team we played and have a big squad. There isn't much room for error though looking at Andy's table above.

I think Stockport have a very good squad but feel they may have left it too late to get the required number of points to win the league. Not sure if Torquay have turned the corner but after seeing Notts drop points then its neck & neck between those two as both now are our main challengers.

I'd agree with that, but I also wouldn't rule out Maidenhead. They're on a bit of roll at the moment, although it is more than likely they just have too many games to play in a short space of time. EDIT : I've just worked out PPG needed by each club to reach 85 points (See table above), and Del is correct in his assessment that Torquay and Notts are the biggest rivals, as they need less PPG that the other sides. Maidenhead are not that far behind either.
