The Beeb also changed the ref from Carl Brook [as Amber Aleman reports] to Scott Simpson, which might have had a greater effect. |

The BBC Radio Kent commentators seemed rather impressed by us. I found that caused me a little extra 'Yes, we really are good!' feeling.

Another marvellous win against a good Bromley team. Maybe we were a little fortunate at times with the ref's calls but it evens itself out over a season.
Glad to see Notts C drop points but of course the rest of the chasing pack all won.
On to Halifax on Saturday where we don't have the best record but a chance to put that right.

The BBC Radio Kent commentators seemed rather impressed by us. I found that caused me a little extra 'Yes, we really are good!' feeling. Yes, very much so. I felt a surge of pride when their commentators opined that judging by our performance, speed, intensity and fitness levels, we are capable of holding our own against League Two sides. I hope this filters back to the players. |

It’s fascinating how much credence you give to the commentary team.
Having worked in that role for 21 seasons I still think I know nothing much about football and I’m intrigued at the level of respect you have for these individuals who probably have only watched SU a handful of times.
I guess that’s the power of the media..

I guess that’s the power of the media.. I have always had the utmost respect for professional commentators, Sol. May their biscuit barrels forever flow with custard creamy goodness.  |

The co-commentator particularly seemed pretty knowledgable IMO. I did chuckle at the co-commentator shouting out to the ref from the commentary box in a "Dave Higson" sort of way - although to be honest the commentary, and the overall presentation was pretty impressive. One of the best I've seen this season. And credit to Neil Smith too. He's obviously angry with his own side, but didn't try and blame the ref or the opponents. Took responsibility for their defeat, which is more than we can say for Rowe are Chesterfield a week ago www.bromleyfc.tv/site/smith-reflects-on-sutton-defeat/ |

I always take it as a plus if (in normal times) a visiting opposition supporter comments that we have a decent side, for all that I have no idea how much they know about the game. I picked up a couple of times on the commentary from Radio Kent commentators that the broadcast was in conjunction with BBC Radio Surrey. When did they last cover a Sutton game? |
