I'm not really surprised by this news. Feel for him a bit.
The ironic thing is in the article that although results had improved slightly Notts County are 14 points behind leaders Sutton United.
Matt Gray had one win in fourteen at one point last season as manager and now look.

Kevin Nolan was announced the new manager within hours of the sacking. Nolan, of course, has previously managed there and was sacked around 2 and a half years ago after not winning in 6 games.

Hi Andy, you might want to double check your sources, either that or get a bet on quickly; as Notts County fans seem to be unaware of this.

It's an indictment of how fickle football has become that five years is now regarded as "long-serving".

The Bromley powers must have someone lined up. Otherwise it's a very weird time to make such a change.

Considering that many of us still have County marked down as main promotion rivals it's interesting to see, on the Notts County fans forum, how many of them had almost given up on anything more than slipping into the play off places and that to no great effect.
I wonder if the change of manager makes a top spot push from them more or less likely? Hard to say, but the balance of County fans seem to assume that this is a 'for next season' appointment.

After the next match that Sutton win, the person interviewing the beaten gaffer's first question should be "Are you still the manager?"
