Have we ever actually won at the silverlake? Definitely not been a happy hunting ground, I know that much.

I believe the preview said we had . . . once.
We made a poor start and Eastleigh could have gone ahead early. Thereafter we grew into the first half but wasted a lot of space and good work out wide. They scored what looked like a blatant offside (in build up) goal, poor lines work. We couldn’t get the clean chance. I think it was Toby that had the best one but tried to take 2 touches when one was plenty. 2nd half we never looked like scoring and Eastleigh well in control. Couldn’t deal with the first ball forward from their keeper particularly well and struggled to cleanly clear our lines and get up the field all day. Need another response now in the back to back home games. I don’t think we’re doing much different to be honest, most of our games this season have been tight affairs.

After a great start to the season we run the real risk of finishing with a whimper. Couldn’t take advantage of kicking downhill in second half.

Well sometimes you loose a game of football when nothing really happens some players looked tired today and the rhythm from last week was missing, so we start the run in with defeat but the boys must believe you can win this league and join the EFL.

Sorry but that was awful. If that's the standard we are going to play for the rest of the season we're just going to stumble into the plays off. We lost against a very average team who didn't play very well.

Have we ever actually won at the silverlake? Definitely not been a happy hunting ground, I know that much. 1st September 2007, 2-1 with both goals scored by Ross Montague. As for today, my vocabulary does not posses the words to adequately describe how I feel.

I think we need to stay positive. These players have served us so well. No need to get too down after losing. Yes in the context of the last 6 games we’ve lost decent ground but I’m not sure we were ever likely to blow everyone away. We’re just not that much better than everyone and never have been. We’ve also had a very tough run recently. If we win the 4 games against the sides at the bottom who lose a lot (albeit Barnet have turned things around recently) we’ll be very close or will win the league. One game at a time but our run in provides an opportunity to shift the momentum back.

Agree with Andy K, that was so poor against a very average side. That is two games now where we needed too turn up but haven’t. The goal might off been off side but does not excuse our performance. So now to big home games coming up, must win. I’m only saying this because I know the team is better than what showed too day and have the best interest of the club at hart.

For me that game was a good advert for 3G because that Silverlake pitch looked bumpy, rutted and the grass looked rather long. Did anyone else notice the way the ball was running (or not running)? A lot of the pitches in the NL and LG2 aren't great come this time of year but GGL plays the same all year round.
Disappointing to lose to a goal that was so far offside but we needed a big performance in the 2nd half and we couldn't find one.

Another tricky away game Could’ve/should’ve been a draw. Toby should’ve scored, after great work from David, but first touch way too heavy and lost control. Similarly he ( I think) gave ball away to them in their area leading directly to their breakaway goal. Crap officiating, particularly the clown linesman nearest the camera. Still onwards and upwards. We can still do this.

I thought that Eastleigh were a reasonable side today especially defensively. We were not at our best even after a weeks break and what i noticed today was that we were snatching at chances rather than being more patient. It would seem that the pressure may be getting to some of our players in this run in. We have two home games coming up which should be winnable. If we don't its the playoffs at best.

What happened to our harrying and shutting down game today? Does that only happen when Oloafe and Bugiel are down the middle? Whichever way you cut it 6 points from the last 6 games is not title winning form.

That was our sixth league defeat of the season, fewer than any other side in the division. Eastleigh is always a difficult place to go, and we only lost by a goal that should have been chalked off for offside. We did ride our luck on a couple of other occasions, but we came close to taking the lead when their keeper pulled off a fingertip save from Tanto. Otherwise our deliveries into their box weren't really good enough to elude an imposing defence. With Tanto out wide again and Omar not starting we perhaps lacked a physical presence up front. When Omar did come on he didn't quite have the impact we might have expected.
With Hartlepool not playing today and Torquay only drawing we've not lost much ground, despite slipping to third. But we are now under a bit of pressure to get a good result against Barnet on Tuesday. A few weeks ago that would have looked as easy a three points as you can find at this level. But they won today and are now unbeaten in four.

Have we ever actually won at the silverlake? Definitely not been a happy hunting ground, I know that much. Not since 2007 and that ill-fated Conference South season.
