I take it 2021/22 will kick off back in the usual August dates ? Tough for the players especially teams involved in play offs - not much summer this year I think the National League starts on 21st Aug for our current division, whilst N/S start on 14th. League 2 starts on 7th Aug. Which means whichever team wins the play off gets about 6 weeks between seasons, as the final is the 3rd Saturday in June.

Tonbridge, as always, would be blooming marvellous for me. Quite enjoyed the last visit.
But Maidstone is a easy journey too. My last visit was in the Mini Beast of the East Part II and was an awful game of football. Lost 1-0.

I'm usually indifferent to friendlies aside from their primary purpose to get us ready for the new season, which to me means playing against sides in the division below or division above.
There is one friendly however which I think we all need to see and is the most appropriate one. Wouldn't it be lovely if we were the first senior side to play in front of a crowd at AFC's new ground. After hosting them for their very first game, it would be a nice bookend that we're the first club to play there in front of AFC fans. It makes sense on a number of levels.

£12 is an awful lot for a Southern League club to charge for a PSF! Since this is essentially in lieu of a home game for us it would've been nice of them to offer some sort of discount to Sutton season ticket holders but never mind

Thank you SUFC for bringing your friendlies to me!
FARNBOROUGH FC’s Cherrywood Road ground is a much better stadium than the team’s football status might suggest. It has seating on 3 sides. It has a large car-park though you should arrive early for the Brentford and Aldershot matches.
By Road. Take the motorway network to M3 junction 4. Join A331 South in second leftmost lane, pass under 1 road bridge then immediately take next exit. At mini round about turn right crossing A331 and at next mini roundabout go straight on in left lane to join A325 Farnborough Rd. Cross to right lane and join right-turn lane at first traffic lights. Turn right into Prospect Avenue. At next round about turn right into Cherrywood Road. Stadium is immediately visible on right.
By Train. The ground is a one mile walk from Farnborough Main station which is on the Waterloo to Southampton line. Wimbledon to Surbiton and if no train to Farnborough is indicated take next train to Woking and change. Midweek rush hour services to Farnborough may not stop at Surbiton. Turn left out of the Station and head North on Farnborough Road. Turn left into Prospect Avenue then as above. If you live in the Reigate or Dorking area the scenic Redhill to Reading train stops at Farnborough North. Take Ship Lane North, Ship Alley and you will be facing Prospect Avenue at traffic lights.

Since this is essentially in lieu of a home game for us it would've been nice of them to offer some sort of discount to Sutton season ticket holders but never mind I guess, Sallycat, that U's have hired Farnborough's stadium on the same basis that I do for our local cup finals - for a fixed fee. Then the hirers set the entrance prices and take the gate.

That actually makes perfect sense when you put it that way!

Granted our lot don’t kick off for another 10 days but anyone off to any pre-season games today?

Horley 1 Croydon 3. Free entry and a programme produced. Played on the pitch behind the stadium, presumably because they didn’t want the pristine surface damaged before their big match with Crawley Town next week.
