Hi all. The prices do hit a little towards the higher end of the league 2 average for Season tickets (Oldhams are a steal). But given our current circumstances it is not a suprise. I do think perhaps the younger braket could have been better but at the end of the day they will be watching league football. Perhaps on the possitive side, this shows the club would like to hold their own in this league and not just have a hopfull punt at clinging on with out finger tips. Perhaps if we do well and stay up, as the ground enhancements would have already been carried out this season, it may permit them to relax the prices a little next season. If we stay up, which i believe we will, we will have to add a further 1000 seats.

As I understand it they will add an extention to the east stand which will be seated for away fans. I was not aware we would also need more.

To those not happy with the price increase, there are 2 choices...buy it or don’t buy it. End of. Have a great Bank Holiday ☀️ The only thing I like in this post is your last line which I hope implies you aren’t going to post anymore today. Commercial awareness - Zero Understanding the ethos of this club over the last decade plus - Zero It's not the ethos of the club over the last decade, it's the ethos over the next 10 years that matter. If we want to be in the EFL then we'll need to be a football business rather than a football club. Now whether the season ticket pricing makes commercial sense I've no idea. This is Sutton United (2021) . "Things is going to change".

I will get a season ticket because I want to be there for the first season in league 2, and can afford it. However I can understand if some might feel the cost is a bit high - yes of course it is good value for league 2, but I think the problem might be that the fanbase is just not used to paying that much to watch the club.
What does need to be made clear is how much will a ticket on the day cost for anyone who is not a season ticket holder.

I think the club has this spot on. A few years back we adopted a strategy of frankly dramatically underpricing STs but with the direct and intended objective of raising interest awareness and fan base. Success. However we should recognise that those prices, in whatever bracket, were underpriced.
Moreover there is a very real danger here which is that we invest all the funds required to make us an EFL club but run the risk of being immediately relegated and having effectively sunk a load of cost that can’t then be recovered. We need to recognise that to have a successful team and great facilities we need to raise funds and genuinely reasonable - not greedy - pricing is one way to do that.

I remember the Charlie Brooker quote "if the internet gave free back rubs, people would still moan if the internet took a quick break because its thumbs are tired".
I think the season ticket price is perfectly reasonable. If I recall correctly it's actually not that far off season ticket prices in 2007 or 2008 for us before we dropped the price radically. That served a purpose. It got our 500/600 crowds up to 2000. It brought a lot of people on board. It's nuts to compare this price to last season.
279 for 23 L2 games plus priority cup tickets home or away. Yes please.

Have a great Bank Holiday ☀️ A lovely constructive message for the young fans out there that are worried they might not be able to afford a season ticket. What a guy Amongst the many postings on our forum there are many that we disagree with, but as has been stated many times before, people are entitled to their own opinions, this is not an opinion but a statement which does nothing to add to the general discussion and shows a total lack of empathy towards those whom the present financial situation is causing anxiety. I am a concessionary S/T holder and was, I admit, somewhat taken aback by the increase but upon reflection did not hesitate and bought my ticket at 11.30 to show that I have faith in the club and to hopefully enjoy our future in League 2.

Perhaps if we do well and stay up, as the ground enhancements would have already been carried out this season, it may permit them to relax the prices a little next season. There is a lot of money being spent on ground improvements including relaying of the pitch and a lot has been discussed on how that much will cost. Add to that floodlight improvements and more seating the money has to come from somewhere. The club are taking a bit of a gamble and unfortunately some supporters may not be able to afford the increase. Instead they will have to pick their matches. Even if all 750 season ticket holders renew and 66% are adults the increase in revenue will be less than 40k. I would rather the supporters pay than we go cap in hand with a directorship on offer for someone with no interest in the club.

I was fortunate enough to have maintained a steady income over the last year or so, so I was happy enough to pay the extra cash and to support the club. But I do feel for those who may have had a difficult year with more uncertainty financially. Perhaps once the season ticket sales are out the way there will be other schemes and ideas for discounts on matchday tickets which a lot of clubs do to bring in more support.
But I have no criticism for the club here, It's all happened very quickly and right now they are covering a lot of ground (quite literally) very quickly..

No problem at all with the pricing which seems in line with other clubs. We have had several good years with reduced price tickets and they had to catch up at some stage. Little disappointed we didn't see a nominal reduction for existing season ticket holders who had taken the plunge this time last year expecting to see probably more games than we got to see. Yes there was free streaming but i'm sure there were a fair number of ticket holders unable to access this technology properly.

The average cost of a pint in the UK (in Aug 2020) was £3.94. This means that the cost of an adult season ticket is not much over a pint of beer a week for the year. The increase from last year is pretty much equivalent to half a pint a week.
