As the competition ended, I think Sutton should announce who they want to retain for the next season within four days or so? Also any inside info on transfer targets would be of interest I guess...

No inside info or rumour - just speculation on my part. I would envisage that we may be looking for a striker - if for no other reason than two of our main strikers this season were loanees - so no guarantee that we will be able to retain them. If we are looking for a striker, I wonder whether Max Biamou might be an option? He has been released by Coventry - in no small part because of Coventry's financial situation. He seemed to love it at Coventry and the Coventry fans loved him. Max appears to primarily be looking for more game time than he was getting at Coventry last season. Appreciate that his time at Sutton pre-dated Matt/Jason - but Jamie Collins - would know all about him.

I understand Max has attracted interest from Championship clubs and L1 clubs so he won't be coming here.

I suspect Matt and his team will be keeping anything like that close to their chests. Quite rightly we won't hear news of it until any deal is done.

Only real rumour I’ve seen is from Barnet supporters who seem to think left back Sam Beard is nailed on to join us - he was highly thought of at Dorking Wanderers in fairness and could be a good pick-up.
I think signing Donovan Wilson permanently would be shrewd move and enquiring to Millwall about the possibility of a season long loan for Olaofe. Failing to secure one of those I would be contacting Boreham Wood to try and lure Tshimanga - Wood are supposedly slashing their budget next season and he’s had another stellar goal scoring season.

All that n good time, they will announce who’s in or out. I also believe this is the first time Sutton would be subject to a transfer window. There was one in the conference, but that was dropped shortly before we were promoted to it in 2016. The transfer window for EFl clubs doesn't open until June 9th and closes at 11pm on August 31st.

I don’t think being up a league necessarily changes anything on getting in one of the top National League strikers. We can compete but not necessarily with leading names. I’d be surprised if we can afford Donovan in the context of likely clubs that would be in for him. We have an advantage in that he knows the club, players and has obviously enjoyed a great season end with us. Whether that is enough, time will tell. One thing I would bet on is he won’t be a Bath City player!! Olaofe you’d expect again to be the subject of a lot of interest if indeed he is up for a loan. We have similar advantages in that the relationship, club and player wise, is already there. Millwall may put player development above mere cash considerations. Time will tell.
Hope we have positive news on tying up a lot of our squad in the next few days. You’d think the management would want to retain virtually all, certainly the main 15/16 who played a lot of the season.

Being up a league may enable us to tap a Premier league club's young talent. There seems to be a barrier to EPL players being loaned below the Football League, but players do get loaned to League 2. Often a young player gets a 3 year professional contract, but he does not develop as hoped from 18-20. If they cannot sell him they still have to pay his salary, and they need him to be getting regular 1st team matches. I think that our current loanee strikers have done well enough to move higher, but we may not have to look down for replacements.

The loans we had last season were good at Nat league level and now they have a chance to stay here for a season stepping up a little and being full time at a club they are clearly comfortable at. Unless they get some very good offers elsewhere I think it's likely they will stay, or at least want to. If not then we are certainly in a position to sign others who have similar potential. At the end of the day it is down to Mat and the team to keep identifying the talent and doing as they have..

Not a transfer rumour as such - but I see that Bruno Andrade has left Salford City. A good player who has previously done well against Sutton.

Rumoured in the media that Joe Kizzi, Bromley's right back is to sign for Sutton on a free transfer. Suggests that Orient and Cambridge also wanted to sign him - but he has chosen to sign for Sutton.

It looks like you’ve hit the button on that according to FLW they’re full of the transfer, a good addition I think on that score👍

If the Kizzi rumour has substance, presumably he'd succeed Simpson as cover for Jon Barden. He scored a few goals for Bromley during the season (mainly from set pieces I think), so definitely a useful addition to the squad!

Although Jon Barden played right back all of last season, I think that he was signed primarily as a holding midfield player - so maybe if the rumour is true, Kizzi and Barden might both be able to play together.
