I just wanted to give a quick update following the unfortunate postponement of the away game scheduled for last weekend at Colchester.
We have been in contact with the EFL this afternoon following further Covid test results. The Club has moved to "Red" protocols at the training ground, and continues to monitor developments daily, in addition to the outlook for players currently unavailable through injury. There have been a small number of additional positive test outcomes, but no more affecting players. With the return from international duty, and potential prognosis of the injury situation, we have informed the league we are in a position to host both Stevenage and Hartlepool.
There may be some small changes to how we manage the games but these are relatively small. There will likely be no ball boys or mascots, for instance. The Club is likely to decide to close off for spectator use the "tardis terrace" to ensure the two teams have separate exit/entry points to the pitch and don't crowd space in the tunnel etc.
More details, particularly concerning ticket arrangements, will be on the Club website tomorrow.
May I take this opportunity to remind all spectators of Covid protocols such that anyone displaying symptoms, or in receipt of a positive Covid test, must not attend any fixture.

What they said. Best wishes to all and we really appreciate the work that's going into making the club safe to host a match

A bit like HMS Vigil I've been submerged all week. Have now come up to sea level with todays game coming into view. With all that's been happening recently and the challenges the club have faced I'd be overjoyed with a boring 1-0 win. I believe Matt likes the team to play as much as possible in the oppositions box, getting the ball up their but if we were a bit less hectic as a team today, pass quicker rather than players going on dramatic runs with the ball I'd be ok with that today. Today is about getting a win. I'm all for an entertaing game, drama but their comes a time when a win by any means necessary is what's called for. If today's game is less dramatic than the first episode of BBC's Vigil that's fine. I'll stop their as I getting out my depth 😊
