The quarters definitely seem to be the most popular. Funnily enough although I like that kit it was always my least favourite. I really liked the kit we wore when I started going in 1995-96; basically plain amber (well, yellow) shirts with that classic '90s big collar in chocolate brown and the brown shorts with yellow trim. I used to get a chuckle out of seeing on the back of programmes that Sutton were wearing chocolate shorts. Perhaps my favourite was the one with wide stripes we were using maybe 15 years ago or so, although unfortunately we weren't very good in it. I do actually like the current one a lot though. I'd agree about the current ones, they are nice kits. Well the Home, Away and Keeper ones. I really don't particularly like the Black one that much, probably because they used Yellow instead of Amber on it.

I grew up with amber/white/amber and the 1911/12 combination looks quite good.

Didn’t Dos change to more amber and less chocolate because the darker shirts were harder to pick out for the players?
I like the current one.

My favourite is the away kit of the 2015/16 Conference South title winning season. The amount of times I've been asked what football team is that shirt you're wearing I have forgotten.
I really like the black third kit though, prefer it over the green.

There is an error in that historical kits website, though how much it affects the estimated kits I am not sure. In the credits one source is listed as "our Warwickshire" and sure enough clicking that produces a 1903 picture of Sutton Under Brailes team, known as Sutton United.

Interesting as it all is and maybe not that important in the great big scheme of things....but how certain are we are the colours depicted are authentic/accurate.
Anything pre 1960 is presumably outside of living or reliable memory and presumably photos are few and far between and all in b/w. Have they been artificially coloured or are there written descriptions of the kit colours somewhere else in the records?

Old programmes often state team colours.

From photos I have seen both from club archives and old local newspapers, the majority of those images are accurate.
Black shorts have been worn during a number of spells.
I think the red kit shown was a change kit and I am sure I have seen the green as quarters not plain.
The gap in the 70s is not necessary as the club wore the same kit, accept for an amber number on the shorts, as they did against Leeds changing to chocolate shorts for 74/5.

Old programmes often state team colours. Kbb Yup. I remember Palace programmes back as a kid in the 90s used to say what colour the teams were playing in, quite often wrong mind you for away teams. 😅

I too liked the quarters that were worn the centenary kit and IIRC the one that followed was chocolate and amber halves and that was nice too. The current first team kit is not, in my opinion, a big enough shout out to the chocolate. I like the black kit but again if we had just made it more brown than black I would have preferred it

I wonder how much the Yellow rather than Amber colour on some kits was either a mistake or Hobson's choice? "Only yellow we have in stock, mate, take it or leave it".
When I was ordering the bar scarves it took only 2 attempts to get the Brown right but the Amber was the 4th attempt. Same applied to the Championship souvenir club tie with Amber and Brown wide stripes, of which there are some left in the club shop. The Brown was correct first time but the Amber was third and a 'special order'. I guess in the amateur days every penny counted and a stock colour like the bright yellow may have been cheaper.

Personalised Home kit received this morning, very very nice.
Slightly irked now though that they seem to have changed the League Two patches they are using since I ordered the Away kit the other week though. 😅

I noticed at Nottingam Forest's City Ground an advert going round read "Dress like a Champion, play like a hero."
As they wear Macro were they referring to us?
