3 matches on tonight, one of which could change our league position
FGR v Colchester Mansfield v Swindon Salford v Tranmere
4 of those sides (FGR, Mansfield, Tranmere and Salford) occupy the top 4 places in the form table with only 2 defeats among their last 6 games. Salford lost to Mansfield, and Mansfield lost to us. Tranmere have won 6 on the bounce now (their last defeat was also against us)
You'd expect FGR to win, although their 2 most recent draws have been against the 2 sides bottom of the form table (Exeter and Oldham) and lets hope Swindon still have their FA Cup hangover.

That Swindon result worked out just fine for us.
Tranmere drew level but that does mean they are only 3 points ahead having played an extra game.
We now have 2 games coming up against sides who combined have only score one more league goal than we have this season and only have 6 more points than we do before we have a top of the table clash.
Interesting to note that our remaining league games in January are against sides we've already beaten in the league (and both our most recent papa John's opposition)

Forest Green are on some run though. Maybe difficult to catch!

National League results may be a little below our radar these days, but of course two NL clubs will join League Two later this year.
Halifax's 1-0 win over Grimsby this evening puts them four points clear at the top, though Chesterfield and Boreham Wood, 2nd and 3rd respectively, each have three games in hand. BW beat Wealdstone 1-0 while Notts County, 4-2 winners at struggling King's Lynn, climb to 4th. Stockport's 4-1 victory at Altrincham puts them on the fringe of the play-off places where they're jostling with Wrexham and Dagenham & R.

I have a suspicion that our old friends Boreham Wood will be joining the 92 next season.

What's interesting about the NL this season is that the fancied, big-budget clubs (principally Notts County, Stockport and Wre💰ham) aren't dominating in the way that might have been expected - though it would hardly be a surprise if two of those do end up getting promoted.
I'd like to see Halifax (one of my favourite away trips 🙂) do it, but it would be helpful to us if a club from the London area also made it. That would have to be Bromley, Boreham Wood or Dagenham & R.😐

No. No. No. Don't even think it. But it would be funny with even more BELTs stuck in the National League I may be in a minority here, but I could tolerate Bromley coming up. Whatever the local rivalry is (which actually I tend to think is not especially genuine!), they're actually a decent enough NL club which have a decent setup now and decent owners. BW literally are only where they are because Arsenal Ladies give them a lot of money. Their chairman is an arsehole too.

I think Stockport will win the league still with all their money. If Halifax do it then Pete Wild would be a legend of the club. He's working with one of the smallest budgets in the league. I agree with AA, a great away day
