The other clubs in the last four are all from the north: Hartlepool, Rotherham and Wigan. Does that mean we can add southern area winners 21/22 to our role of honour?

Haven't listened to Matt's post-match interview yet but the moral of that seems to be 'don't start without all four of Tanto, Omar, Ali and David' if they're avaialable. One or two of them, certainly. Three, maybe. But not all four. Or we lose both creativity and hussle. I must confess I sometimes miss quite how much Omar brings in just by being there.
In the first half, I thought Enzio had a good match and I liked Ben Wyatt's dynamism. Even thought we didn't sparkle we still looked OK. Second half, after the subs, we looked a real handful.
Brilliant result and well done to the lads!

While Craig will understandably and justifiably earn most of the plaudits and the headlines for last night's win, we have reached the semi final of a cup competition only conceding one goal in six matches in spite of not always putting out our strongest starting X1 - so great credit to Dean (and Brad) and our defence also. Credit too to Matt for managing our progress in this competition, earning the club in the region of at least £250,000 from a combination of gate receipts, TV money and awards for wins, keeping all the squad involved with his rotation policy and still guiding us to a position where we are promotion contenders in the league. He is a quite outstanding young manager. We have much to thank Dos for given all that he achieved in a decade as Sutton United manager. Recruiting and lining up his own replacement when he decided to move on must be up there with his greatest contributions to Sutton United.

Last night in Scotland it was Burns' Night, in England, well, one part of it, it was Eastmond Night and will be forever remembered as such. Red card rightfully rescinded, 300th appearance, and a fine winning goal. The goal topped a fine performance in the middle of the park, especially when coming up against the guile and energy levels of Josh Falkingham.
As for the match, Matt G made a number of changes as he continues to use the squad to the full. If Harrogate shaded the first half they did so while rarely testing Dean B as the defence got the blocks and tackles in. That could be said of the visiting defence too as Donovan W had an almost hopeless task as he was crowded out. Enzio B looked U's best bet for a goal and one fine run ended with him pulling a left foot shot just wide while a heaed chance for Louis J went over.
Second half was pretty even with both 'keepers forced into low saves. Perhaps U's subs midway through turned the match. Fresh legs brought a renewed energy and a set piece wasn't dealt with, Ben G cushioned an angled header and Skip crashed home with a powerful low drive. 'Gate brought on the towering Beck and I think illegally he set up a chance for Armstrong who's low shot went wide off the foot of the post. Hearts in mouth moment, that. David A almost netted a well conceived second as he showed patience before striking the ball towards an unguarded goal from distance but their defender did superbly to clear off the goal line. Final whistle followed.
A great result. Harrogate must hate GGL. They have lost all four visits but have not played badly in any of those matches and all but one has been decided by a one goal margin.
Of course, we had our mate refereeing. He does make some odd decisions but certainly nowhere near the worst we have had this season. He is actually a friendly chap too, unlike some of them and was willing to enter into a bit of banter. I think the last three cup matches he has officiated Sutton in have all gone the way of U's. I think he refereed our 6-3 v Dartford as well, so it maybe four.
Shout out to the 79 from Harrogate. A long way to come for a cup tie in a competition disliked by a few. They added to the evening too with some noise in the first half that shamed the rest of us on a cold but ultimately successful eveing at The VBS.
The long trek to Carlisle follows then the PJT sf draw. Hartlepool away anybody?

Many congratulations to Easty for his 300 games.what a leader and captain. What a night to commemorate it. A great display in the midfield and a great goal to seal the day. I was in line with his strike at goal ( straight through the keepers legs ) Again Matt changed the game around with his substitutions. As said previously. Onwards to Carlisle on Saturday. Hope W R is OK.He seemed to be limping when he was subbed. Again well done to the squad for another good evening.

We may have a moan about him, but I can only recall one game he reffed that we lost (Maidenhead a few seasons back), but as losing to Maidenhead was something we made a habit of in the Dos era, one could hardly blame him for that.

What a great evening! David A's 'almost goal' will live long in the memory! Yes. A shame it was cleared off the line.

Fingers crossed for Hartlepool at home in the semi as, on paper, that looks the best option.

At least he is consistently poor for both sides.

I'm sure he scored another great goal on his 250th too.
