No iam not a worrier. Can't I show interest in how the club is going on and off the pitch!! Yes it's early days and things can and will happen. Of course you can show interest People are just trying to reassure you. Often it looks like nothing is happening when behind the scenes it's all go and then suddenly we'll see results. This club has shown over and over that when it matters the people in charge always deliver the goods. And if you are concerned, they are very approachable. I can understand why you're asking here in case anyone knows more than you do. But I can also understand why others might feel you should have a little more faith in the club. I'm sure everything is going just fine!

I know I have spoken about the ground update previously. Since the last post some of the items on A B 's todo list have not been completed or even started. Can I ask if the stand support will be finnished? Will the entrance to the bar be started / completed? And the new dugouts installed. Apparently the tarmac at the away end was only finished yesterday and with the temperature as it is will it have to be relayed after Charlton supporters walking on it? Yes as been said before there two weeks before the start of the season.

Two other aspects inside the ground i noticed : The TARDIS terrace was not ready and the temporary away stand was not in use.Additionaly the new refs facility is not ready so a lot to be done by 30 July but I am sure there is a plan.
The tannoy was certainly hard to hear in the left side of the main grandstand yesterday. how was it around the ground?

I believe the Tardis terrace is awaiting its licence.

The tannoy was certainly hard to hear in the left side of the main grandstand yesterday. how was it around the ground? The Tardis Terrace, as was the case with the Away Concourse, was a victim of the combination of the late laying of tarmac, and the searing temperatures. The surface was too "sticky" to let people on it (and the planned installation of toilets/food/drink facilities). Given the anticipated smaller than average League crowd we will not need the concourse for Tuesday's (or next Saturday's) game, and given the anticipated high temperatures, we will likely keep this closed allowing for more "setting time". We are likely to do a small amount of additional tarmacing, around the entrance to the new Away disabled shelter for instance, as well as some remedial smoothing in front of the Tardis Terrace. There is no reason to believe the terrace won't be available for the Newport County fixture, and whilst this stand has the flexibility to be used as a home or away area, we are hopeful this will become a popular viewing point for our home spectators. The away end has a new installed PA system, and no complaints that I am aware of from away fans. The new building housing the match officials, medical room, and anti-doping facility is on plan to be in use for the first EFL match, with work currently happening inside the main building providing the link to that facility, involving widening of the corridor to allow for wheeled stretchers, if required, directly from the pitch to the improved medical facilities.

Can you say what is happening regarding 1.The new Bar entrance ( still to de started ) 2.The Stand stanchion.( to be finished) 3.The new Dugouts.( To be installed) Thanks in advance. Firstly, and of course ridiculously, I took a few days holiday last week, and my first time at the ground for a while was yesterday, which was incredibly busy, so I will caveat the response with a general "I don't actually know" That said... 1) Planned and expected to be delivered for the start of the season (or very shortly after) but can only be done when the 2) is completed for structural reasons 2) The new steel is in place from above (I haven't seen below) and needs to be joined. Then the box will be removed, props decommissioned, and seats re-installed. Nothing I am aware of to suggest this won't happen by Newport. 3) They have been ordered and we await delivery. The next visible sign will be us digging the new positions, as we are sinking them slightly to improve the views from many of the seats in the main grandstand. No doubt you will find me on Tuesday (and Saturday) when I will likely have clearer answers.

Whilst we are using tarmacadam, would it be possible to remove the opportunity for the large puddle to form just in front of the Gander Green Lane end terrace. When it's been raining heavily at the end of a match it causes a bottleneck which is surely a danger in the dark.

When it's been raining heavily at the end of a match it causes a bottleneck which is surely a danger in the dark. As soon as we have stopped the need for heavy construction vehicles passing through the main club entrance we will be looking at making smoother (and safer) the entire footprint, and especially those with regular pedestrian flows. We need to do the same inside the ground too. Hopefully we have enough of a window before the season of precipitation returns. In general, happy for fans to tell me (or AB) of any particular areas of concern. I'm sure Claire Loughlin is just as receptive as the Club SLO, and anyone that's knows her will be comforted by the fact she won't be shy in passing on such messages.

As Tim says, I’m always happy to have a chat about things. Feel free to drop me a message on here, or an email to claire.loughlin@suttonunited.net Or do talk to me on match days, I’ll be around the ground and often found on the curva during the game.
I can’t promise to have all the answers, but I will endeavour to find them for you. Equally if you have feedback on anything I am here to pass that on to management and make sure everyone’s voices are heard.
