Fantastic achievement by the girls. European champions 2022. Beating the 8-time champions - icing on the cake.

Fantastic. Great final. Neither side let up, gave their all. A fitting finale to what has been a very watchable tournament.
A packed Wembley and live on BBC TV and the match did not disappoint.
Ref was very inconsistent, especially in the first half but shouldn't dwell on a negative on an evening full of positives for Women's football and football in general.

And that is how you manage the last 5 minutes of time - pity we weren’t as good at Wembley as they were. Have the say the standard of the play throughout the tournament was fantastic and the level of skill has been an eye opener.

Yep, a fantastic display by the lionesses, played like lions, and they saw that last 5 mins out really well.
I think the men's game should look hard at itself, today we saw a family atmosphere, no trouble, no bars open outside the ground pandering to the wrong sort.
I am as impressed with what goes with the women's game, as I am unimpressed of what comes from EFL football, bars, barriers, and louts.
Really impressed with the Women's game setup, and well done for doing something the overpaid England men's team can't do, actually winning something..

Actually OS that's a little disrespectful to lionesses, which in the wild are at least as efficient and ruthless hunters as male lions. Indeed, when lions hunt as a pride it will usually by a lioness that makes the kill. Maybe there's some sort of lesson there!

Really impressed with the Women's game setup, and well done for doing something the overpaid England men's team can't do, actually winning something.. Os has summed up my own feelings pretty well. The team (including the manager) showed great skill, a great will to win, humility and intelligence. Leah Williamson played centre-half and went through the tournament without having to make a tackle - shades of the late great Bobby Moore. The phrase 'role models' is applied too often to people not worthy of the title - the lionesses are worthy. On a weekend when this board has highlighted the inappropriate behaviour of some Sutton supporters on Saturday, 87,000 people at Wembley showed what the experience of attending a football match could/should be like - very unlike the behaviour of England fans at Wembley at the men's Euros final against Italy. The Lionesses have more than earned the right to be treated as equals to their male counterparts - men's football has a lot that it could learn from the women's game. The Lionesses played with smiles on their faces - and they have put smiles on the faces of a nation.

I don't think I've ever seen a side playing with so much confidence and such a lack of fear.
They're a credit and an inspiration to every football team in the world.

Great seeing the love for the Lionesses but it would be nice if more supporters gave our own women’s team support.
They’ll soon be beginning their first season at (I think) level 4 after winning their league last season.

First league game is 21 August at home to Fulham. They’ve posted a list of their August and September fixtures on Instagram but I don’t how to copy it here.
Although they’re entertaining to watch their social media and online presence is in my opinion very poor.

They’ll soon be beginning their first season at (I think) level 4 after winning their league last season. For the league structure I think I have it..... (Edit in case people do not read next page....i do not have it! DaveF explains correctly further down thread) Two top divs are Super League & Championship. Then National League has 1-4 Then is is more regional and we are in the London & South East Prem div (winners get promoted to National 4) So it is like the old Ryman League. The first few weeks of the season work out very nicely with H/A fixtures opposite the men's team. There were some issues with Social Media and quite a few changes behind the scenes but lots of movement in last few months. I have already lined Will Letts up for an interview before the seasons opening match. Should be home friendlies the next two Sundays - not sure if these will be at GGL (hopefully) but the first team fixtures will be. This is something I felt we should be promoting as not many clubs do this (despite lots of 'one club' messages).

Thank you must admit to just looking under the women's team on the official website rather than instergram
