Another new ground and another new team - life gets better and better.
I was 4 mins away from the hall of fame prediction room on Saturday - and when Mark Chapman gave the result in the new sounding classifieds on sports report I nearly fell from the gantry @the Tottenham Hotspur stadium and into A Conte’s very very expensive hairpiece.
Now that I would have paid good money to see Sol! I heard your reports from Spurs and hope you didn’t break any mics!! 😊🙂
Similar game to Wigan except we didnt take our big chance. MK dons were comfortably 1.5 leagues above us, so the sideshow of the League cup ends at the first hurdle again. Maybe we'll get a better draw next year but that's two grounds we wouldnt otherwise have seen.
Plus points: MK Dons ground is a fantastic piece of design. Shame its wasted on MK Dons. Rose had a very solid game. No sign of the kicking problems, although his goal kicks are quite short for a pro goalie, and the defence look a bit hesitant playing it back to his feet. Still, vast improvement inside a few weeks so I am much more hopeful.
Negative points: £7 for a pie? I laughed and walked away. Another CB injury. At this rate we'll need our MK Dons youngster. Whats the point of signing a CB if he's not going to play when called upon? Another defeat.
I thought it was a solid performance you don't need the ball to win matches, but you do need to take your chances when they come along. The best chances tonight fell to us, and we didn't score, we need a striker or its going to be a long tough season.
Whats the point of signing a CB if he's not going to play when called upon?
Presumably the manager was happy using more experienced players on this occasion and he has always said Kizzi can play in the middle. Clearly a young centre back who hasn’t even played National League level has been signed with one eye on the future.
Another new stadium. And a good one at that.To the game.As been said " lacklustre "Till the substitutes. We saw in a team clearly a league above us in style and movement. A couple of comments from persons around me last night thought their passing was a "masterclass" We could possibly learn as we again seem to pass 4 or 5 times then hoof the ball. On previous threads I have said that we need a forward and this is evident from other posts.. Noticed Ben at the end of the game come on with his leg in a long brace. He could be out for some time. Hope Coby is not badly injured as again been posted "running out of C H's. On to Saturday for another hard game.
Back to the game. We lacked energy on a hot evening. Couldn't really get our press going or the ball sticking up front.Made a huge difference when we eventually got our subs on. Kouassi impressed me and gave their two centre backs much more to think about as they had a very easy 70 mins beforehand. Thomas was lively too and Gambin gave us a glimpse of what he can do.
We had a very similar chance to the one MK Dons scored but sadly Enzio couldn't convert!
Should never have gone down the A5 on the way back. Diversion after diversion!!!
Hideous wasn't it? Roadworks after roadworks, and at least 3 times we couldn't get on the M1. Eventually managed to join the M25 on the other side of Hemel, and then insult to injury, you couldn't get off at the A3 to head back in a Sutton direction.

merchandiser: You guys make me laugh, have you been to many away grounds, I don't think so. When we travelled up north for most of the trophy rounds last season, you would not believe, it was like going back to the seventies.

scorpioeyes: I predicted a relegation struggle with a totally inexperienced manager. Hope I am wrong, but it doesn't look like it. MG is out of his depth, that's obvious.

ggl: So are we now saying we have a manager who is not in favour of bringing in loan players and if the board decided to part company with him they cannot afford to do so ?

historyboy: So sorry to hear about the passing of Eddie Clack. I Remember him well.

historyboy: Sad to hear of the passing of Eddie Cack, I remember him well. I think that the said photograph publishsed by the club, of him sitting next to Dave Hermitage, isn't him at all; I think the picture shows Micky Goodall. Compare other pictures of both.

scorpioeyes: It certainly would be 'convenient' for Dover to have the season washed out. if they fail to turn up tomorrow,we should be awarded the game and 3-0 to our goal difference. Why should we be inconvenienced by any attempts to rearrange the game?

Burtie: Hello chaps. Is there any intelligence about the crowd situation for the game vs Hartlepool on 22 May? Does the club have a position on supporters?
Apr 24, 2021 17:02:01 GMT
scorpioeyes: I think these odds are quite amazing. If I was a neutral looking at the recent form and upcoming fixtures,I'd make hartlepool or perhaps Torquay as fave for the title. To have 'pool at 9s and us as evens is bizarre.

valiant: Hello again! Can you tell me where the away seating is please? I thought it was behind the goal next to the away terrace but looking at the film on Quest I can't see it! Thanks.

pinewalker: There is a temporary stand at 45 degrees to the pitch behind the NE corner flag, and there is more away seating at the east end of the main stand both accessed via the away turnstiles.
