£20,000 participation fee Group stage - £10,000 for a win, £5,000 for a draw 2nd round - £20,000 for a win 3rd round - £40,000 for a win Q Final - £50,000 for a win Runner up - £50,000 Winner - £100,000 Would it be too much of a leap to conclude that when gate receipts and TV money is included the Pizza Cup realised close to £250K in profit ! It would be nice if that were repeated again this season

Well, the prize money element can be worked out from the figures above and that goes over 200k on its own. Of course, clubs incur costs for travel/hotels and staging games, with some matchday income. The final was not an enormous crowd, and all the matchday expenses for staging the game are deducted before the finalists receive a share of any surplus but it's fair to say there was a surplus.
