Presuming that the Queens funeral takes place on Saturday 17th September- is it planned that all football will be postponed- and presumably take place on a Tuesday later in the season?

The EFL has issued the following statement
"Consideration in respect of EFL fixtures will be discussed with the Government and the wider sport sector during the period ahead and an appropriate announcement will be made at the earliest opportunity.”
We don't yet know the date of the funeral. Be prepared for this Saturday's fixtures to be called off.

I don't think anything has been set yet, but I'd expect we may see a couple of postponements for us.
For history buffs, when the last monarch died in 1952, rugby and hockey were suspended, but football continued with the national anthem and abide with me sung before all matches.

Apparently the rail strike for next weekend has been called off, but that is probably irrelevant now, given the developments of the last 24 hours.

But will Network Rail will call off their weekend engineering work? 🙄 (This would be relevant to some of us if the Hartlepool game goes ahead on the 17th.)

Seems it's the other way round this time!
