I think we should be pleased there was no more time added.

Does Eastmond’s sending off suspension carry into league games?

That was pretty poor! Just did not get going first half, second half a bit better but still pretty poor. The problem for me is when we are at home we play a pressing game and away from home we seem too sit behind the ball and give far too much space. They just look a different team away from home, yes we have scored a way but the pressing is not there like the third goal at Swindon..⚽️⚽️⚽️

Attendance tonight was just over 1,000 ( didn't catch the actual figure ), but they did say there was 170 travelling supporters..........sadly no programme was produced to be able to see "who" Orient were putting out

The lesson from this evening was that the Orient squad has more strength in depth than ours (which is hardly a surprise). We started with four players who'd begun last Saturday's league game, Orient started with two. (The line-ups are available on Twitter.)
They were 2-0 ahead after ten minutes, thanks to Chelsea loanee (and former Woking player) Jayden Wareham. Although Kylian soon pulled a goal back, but for some fine goalkeeping by Brad House, and two or three near misses, they'd have been a lot further than 2-1 ahead at the interval.
Aaron Pierre, on his debut, was dominant when the ball came to him in the air but uncomfortable when it was played towards him quickly on the deck. And he wasn't the only Sutton player off the pace.
We made more of a game of it in the second half. When Omar, Donovan and Louis came on around the 70-minute mark there were hopes that we'd snatch an equaliser. But it wasn't to be. Craig's red card (for a second booking) late on, and Orient's third from the ensuing free kick, meant there was to be no way back.
We must hope now that Oxford Utd beat Chelsea U21s in the other second group game, which would virtually seal their progress to the knockout stage. They might then field a second-string side when they visit GGL on 18 October.

The strongest starting eleven picks itself as there is no depth to the squad. Most of those coming in tonight were miles off the pace. PJT is likely to be their only game time so we have to get used to the idea that we will not progress as far in the competition this season.

Hello all. I was a little surprised we put out a team with no youth players in it, we did that against Oxford and got our arses kicked. Sutton did look a bit all at sea in the first half and that pretty much sealed it, the 2nd half was mostly even with neither side looking desperate to win it. I doubt any of our fringe players will be starting at Barrow on Saturday after tonight's showing. I thought Eastman was a bit unlucky to see a red card but it won't affect his EFL2 appearances as l understand it. Until next time then, l'm sure our league matches will feature a lot more blood and guts. Cheers.

Having seen and heard Matt's interview. I must agree with his assessment of the game. There were two or three in the team that I felt were not match fit.As been said are only squad players. There were a couple ( I won't name names) That look like they could loss a few pounds ( l am possibly talking about myself also) Has Allison got a problem with Easty. First tackle ,booked. Then the second and a red card.I believe he has booked Easty in the past? Correct if I am wrong. Again as been said we play a different style away from GGL.To deep allowing the opposition to play like Orient played last night.

For sure it wasnt our best performance (and always going to be a tough ask after conceding 2 in the first ten minutes) but we should give due credit to our opponents whose passing, movement and creativity was about the best I have seen from a League 2 outfit. If they continue playing like that in the league, they will very likely not be opponents next season!

No question that Orient were much the better side and well worth the victory. Tend to agree with is4 though that there were players representing Sutton who looked like they might benefit from doing some more work on their general fitness before playing in any further competitive matches.
