The away end at Gillingham is abysmal. Poor quality, “temporary” seating that has been there for about 15 years now, if not longer. At least you get a decent view of the pitch and I think Gillingham provide plastic macs if it’s really wet.
There’s reasonable street parking not too far from the ground. Lots of ginnels/snickets between the houses down to the ground. The nearby Livingston Arms (if it’s still open) is/was a decent pub.

Just noticed its uncovered. A bit rubbish and we will all get soaked. I may have to reconsider going as I have a little one with me. Will they take refunds?

LOL I notice their website is pretty clear on not being liable for refunds. I wonder why...

I very much doubt that GFC would give anyone a refund for any reason - it's not in their DNA. As for the "temporary" away seating in the Brian Moore Stand - it's been there since 2003 when they "temporarily" obtained it after the Open Golf championship at Sandwich. If the weather is ghastly and the away following is not that great in number, they have been known to shift the away fans to the covered but low-level Gordon Road stand towards the Brian Moore Stand end, but I suspect there will be too many U's fans given the geography for that to be an option. Street parking can be found about 10-15 mins walk away in the likes of Woodlands Road, First and Second Avenues (that's where I'm heading..) - and I would avoid the various alleyways around the stadium unless you've got a blue & white scarf on. Local knowledge...ex FD!

Looks like we will rough it out. I left it in her hands and she was more worried and asking if I think the game would be called off for too much rain lol, Rain coat it is.

Haven't got my tickets yet. Waiting on the weather forecast. Could go in the home end and keep quiet! lol
It's ridiculous there is no cover available for away fans. After all they have been a Football League club as long as i can remember!

Which is very possible.
They've won 1 game at home (against basement club Rochdale) which has been their only victory so far in the league this season, nearly 2 months ago. They also only scored 2 goals this season, one in that victory and one at Grimsby in a 1-1 draw. On top of that they've failed to score in the league in the last 75 minutes of any game.
One of the goalscorers was Mikael Mandron, who played against us for Eastleigh a few seasons back. Their right back is Cheye Alexander, who is familiar to us from his spells at Barnet and Aldershot.
This is a real opportunity for us to get our first league away win of the season. We just need to make sure we take it.
And today's trivia question : Name the only man ever to manage both Sutton United and Gillingham.
