I would say it was Kieth Blunt I would say you are correct. He was caretaker manager after another Keith (Burkinshaw) resigned after Gillingham were relegated to the old Div 4 back in 1989 for one game. That one game was a 3-0 win over Mansfield which took place on a rather ominous date, 15th April 1989.

Away days are the best days especially when you pick up your first three points on the road of the season.

We were terrible today - No quality and kept giving the ball away - added time suicide as usual - two week’s running we beat ourselves

Shocking game, not going to win us any new fans. Why are we more interested in fouling and giving away possession than we appear to be in playing. From being strong and resolute to the last minute now we are an easy target for a soft goal.

Groundhog day. I find myself expecting us to concede when we go into injury time at the end of the game. Just unprofessional. I'd be surprised if there is any team in the top half of the National League that has strikers that pose less of a goal threat than us.

Very poor, looked lacking in confidence a bit today. And the conceding late goals, if it wasn’t a problem based on stats over a long period before, is now definitely a problem. Concentration, decision making, composure, whatever it is, we need to sort it. We didn’t really deserve anything today.
A few players off colour I thought, we didn’t look right. Stevenage away is looking like the wrong game at the wrong time.

Really poor too day just did not get going at all. Too loose to a team that has only scored two goals is just not good enough and I think Matt would agree. What is it about stoppage time that we keep Conceding it is becoming a habit now as Tony said in commentary. Is it that they have no believe that they can win away from home or something else. It is still early days but we are struggling to score goals which to me is our main problem. I’m sure Matt will sort it out because he’s a great manager. Also this season was all about staying up, so onwards and upwards. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

I was not at the game today due to personal issues. Reading the above posts it seems that the game was a shocker!!Or the team was. I must agree with comments made about last minute goals conceded against. Etc. Tuesdays game will be another tough game. Words have to be said at the training ground or in the changing room. No doubt excuses will be made. But over the past games efforts and indevers have not got us nowhere. Watching Swindon and Leyton Orient showed how to play. No doubt Matt and Jason will sort out any problems.

That was, in my opinion, the worst game I've seen us play in the EFL. And that includes Walsall away last season.
Aside from Eastmond and perhaps Omar we were shocking against easily the worst side I've seen in the league this season.
And yet again we lose to an injury time goal.
What are we going to blame this time? Red card? Donovan? I don't remember us troubling the keeper but that wasn't down only to the front too, our delivery was terrible.
That's 3 defeats on the spin in all competitions. We need a solid performance going forward, and I hope Matt has given them a rocket. We've turned from a team who don't know when they're beaten to a side that falls apart like a cheap suit when the 4th official shows the injury time board.

I'd be interested to know why Matt picked Harry in midfield as he clearly wasn't fit enough to start. We were overrun in midfield and to play the system we do needs a combative midfield. We played right into Gillingham's hands as they more or less got 10 men behind the ball and played on the break. Why call Adam Poulton back from Dartford if we don't play him and what's the point of having a striker on loan who doesn't start?

With all due respect, “why doesn’t Kendall start” seems like a valid question, but only for whom hasn’t followed him when he actually started in the first team at Leyton. Seeing that I wouldn’t expect him to start any time soon… or at all if Donovan and/or Tope are available.

In view of the weather forecast decided to give today's match a miss and listened to the game on the radio. It came over as a match to miss, Sutton's performance seemed to lack cohesion especially up front. The main problem as we all know lack of goals from chances created and the inability to see the game out in the final minutes. I am sure Matt and his team will sort the problem out.

But in all honesty that will put him in the same category as most of the players out there. Kendall wouldn't have changed the game if he'd started, and nor would have Lovatt. And in terms of the usual "lack of goals/goalscorer" argument, if the players are not going to get the service, theyre not going to score the goals. Today was an overall very poor team performance
