Neither am I complaining it is what it is. Just think it is missing an oportunity that out of a crowd of over 4000 only 134 tickets sold that the scheme needs a revamp. No more complaining than you suggesting the team could take more risks.

Not sure if it’ll work but could the volunteers who manage the turnstiles, sell the tickets as fans go in?

I can answer that. No way would it work, unless we are happy with people still queuing to get in 30 minutes after kick-off.
The number of turnstiles required in a stadium is calculated based on maximum capacity and rate of throughput through the entrances - the aim is to get people in as fast as possible.

sufc1898 wants to put the responsibility of "doing yet more" on the existing volunteers rather than finding a solution where he and perhaps other supporters he may know might help. I fully agree with Davef selling tickets at the turnstiles or at the grandstand entry points would not work. The club I understand from a recent news letter require more volunteers in a number of areas so there are various opportunities to get involved why not email or phone the club officials and explore the possibilities.

It was just an idea that Dave has politely explained won’t work. John P has an idea to ‘revamp’ things - who’s to say that will work?

The plain fact of the matter is that there needs to be more volunteers coming forward to sell tickets, 5 or 6 in total to cover for absence and holidays. In reply to Brian54, having spoken to the seller concerned ,it was the Stockport County game you mention when you didn't see a seller in the 1898 bar.FYI he started at the front of the Grandstand, down the Tunnel into the 1898 bar into the other two bars, back into the 1898 bar, and out into the car park and back to base. This particular seller usually wears a purple tabbard adorned with many badges on the front-and Supporters Club on the back-- so easy to spot. There will be a revamp next season. But the whole scheme depends on supporters to come forward and sell the tickets on a match day between 1-45 and 2-45pm. At the start of this Season the Committee of the Supporters Club worked out a level of financial support/subsidy for each of the away Coaches to enable as many Supporters to travel to away games as possible. As we guessed it would financially be a very difficult year for many people, which has proved to be the case. John P.has done an excellent job again this year in organising and running the coaches at a very Competitive price , with several coaches being full. The money raised from 50/50 tickets goes some way towards this applied subsidy. In order to continue this financial assistance we need to sell more Tickets. SO WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS to help. Please offer to help.

Thank you for confirming my comments. Given the bars open at midday I was correct no-one was in the bar when I was there (12 45 to 1 30) nor did the seller approach me to sell tickets in grandstand one whilst I was stewarding . The reason I think a revamp is required is the scheme runs alongside the scratchcard seller and the raffle run by the luuch organisers all aimed at the same small audience
