It's perhaps worth adding that, as things stand, we have seven strikers registered to play in League Two (that's if we count Dundo as a striker). Seven is more than we need. I agree that two of those are likely to be shipped out in the window, and Matt may only feel the need to bring one in. If that's what transpires, it frees up a place in the squad for a defender or midfielder.

Easy to tell the football manager players from those who aren't. Squad registration has no impact on contracts. I expect to see gambin, Thomas and Kendall leaving and one or two more arrivals. A full back and a striker would make sense but the chances or finding a striker for free who will improve our squad seems remote. I would expect ajiboyes wage will be paid in full by us so two might have to make way for one. Ajiboyes return and kizzi returning to rb means we have some much more exciting impact options. I feel one of the reasons for so many late goals conceded is a lack of impact from the bench. However, I do wonder how Matt will accommodate all our wingers. I've said it before but I'd love to see will Randall in the hole behind the striker in a 433 At the risk of being a little stubborn, may I repeat myself? But my actual point was; when making an assertion of that nature (player is removed from squad) could the poster please give their source for that statement. It's not a big ask and takes it out of 'bloke said' territory. (But do enjoy your gaming.)

I'm going to do a Sol and make a wild prediction (without naming names).
We sign 1/2 strikers. 1/2 of our current strikers will go on loan to NL/NLS level (depending on how many we sign, either on loan or as a full on Sutton players).
We also sign a RB.
2/3 players leave the club, either returning to their parent club, loaned out until their contract runs out or leave by mutual consent/small fee.
I'll let you decide which players fit into which category.

I'm sorry, Andy, but based on the 'optimism' of Sol's matchday result predictions, I reckon that he would be predicting that we sign 6 strikers including Messi and Mbappe.

But could they cope with a cold, wet Tuesday night in Stockport?

My prediction is there won’t be too many more changes. 1 forward if we can get someone to improve the team or compete with Wilson for starting shirt. Easier said than done, especially in January. I think our 2 young forwards are offering something and will get minutes - they stay with us for me. Both had an impact Thursday night and helped us get the 3 points. There is potentially a chance if we end up in mid table territory to give them even more experience with next season in mind. At right back I wouldn’t rule out an addition but I’m pretty relaxed about it given we have a couple who can ably cover (Enzio and Easty). Again also potential to give Charles-Cook some time, especially if we don’t have result pressure later on. I’m assuming Kendall will be returned to Lincoln and Thomas will likely have contract mutually terminated to allow him to play elsewhere or a club in the National League will find a nominal fee for him.

Apparently Max Biamou is currently a free agent and looking for an opportunity with an EFL club.

Apparently Max Biamou is currently a free agent and looking for an opportunity with an EFL club. Biamou is exactly the sort of player I'd love to see us sign. A strong mobile striker, good in the air with a decent eye for goal. However, there will be no shortage of teams looking for the same, most will have bigger wages to offer. Wonder if he's on Matt's radar. I get the feeling matts his own man and the sort of guy who wouldn't be too keen to bring back a player from a past era but I may be wrong.

Yes but he is not going to be the same Max Biamou who we had before.

Let’s hope he finds some playing time elsewhere and finds some form. Would have to be in non-league for this season as the article explains. Good luck to him, clearly didn’t work out, that’s life/football. A learning experience!

No mention of this on either clubs' websites as yet - and Charley is still shown as a member of our 1st team squad.

I can see Charley turning out to be a really good striker in the right system.
