Was it at Eastleigh that they only played music after their goal and not ours? Might that also be the intention at GGL?
No, you're not alone, Son, and yes, I probably am showing my age!

Not in favour myself. Clubs that play a blast of music after a goal usually only do so after the home side have scored. This is particularly irritating for visiting fans. Tom Hark is a big favourite - I've heard it at at least four different grounds. I quite liked the tune before I started to hear it belted out by crowing PA announcers.

For far too long things have been to staid around GGL, Sutton has always been a very 'conservative' (small c) club winning lots of friends. But friends don't win you promotion and if music either before the match of after a goal can irritate or even unsettle the opposition, I say give em hell ;D
Most clubs that do it end up getting promoted you know?

That's nothing.
At some league grounds the announcer or DJ says the scorers first name and then the crowd shouted his surname.
It might not work as well at non league level.

Eastbourne were the first I remember doing it. Sadly for them, it was during the 'Chris Vagg' 4-3 cup win down there, so we sang it for 'em after each of our goals. Personally, not a fan of music after goals. But hey ho, could be worse. We could have a drum!
