Do not worry Stewart I was able to find the k.o. time of the Fleet game from their website.Sadly it is the same as the Farnborough match, so given what you have indicated about the line ups a probably easy choice to be made. Likely means Fleet Town's crowd will not be boosted by many of our supporters. Perhaps our TV will provide highlights (with player information) so we can catch up on our younger players over the following days.

The kick off time at Fleet has been moved to 12.00 so any supporters who would like to take in two games on Saturday can now do so.

We've been advised by Woking that only ground tickets will be available on the turnstiles at next Tuesday's friendly, with stand seats only available on line and the link being taken down three hours before kick off on Tuesday. So if you want to sit down at Woking you will need to buy in advance. The link for tickets is here wokingfc-awayfans.ktckts.com/event/wok2324f2/sutton-united

Just an early(ish) warning that there aren't any trains through West Sutton again next Saturday - this time due to the rail strike. There is a half hourly Southern service from Victoria to Dorking via Mitcham Junction and Epsom, and a half hourly service from Victoria to Epsom Downs via West Croydon, both of which stop at Sutton.

I'm expecting that tonight's game will probably be the last time we'll see "Trialist" on the teamsheet. There maybe one or two on Saturday if either Matt needs just one final look or we are short of a specific position, but by then we'll have a pretty good idea of how the squad has shaped up.

Now that preseason is over, do we anticipate the club revealing the identities of our trialists? Trialist C is currently our top scorer - and few people know who he is?

I’m sure triallists tend to stay anonymous.

No, and to be honest it won't matter unless they sign for us. Scoring in meaningless friendlies will soon be forgotten once the season has started.

We didn't really start playing multiple pre-season games until the mid 1970s.
1977/78, we lost all 3 pre-season games (all at home) then lost just 2 of the first 10 league matches
1983/84, we lost 3 and drew 1 of 4 pre-season games, then went 8 unbeaten in the opening league games.
1984/85, in our opening friendly we lost at Southwick. We won the league that season.
Just saying.

We won the league that season. Just saying. Thank you Dave. You have exactly read my mind on this one! As a perpetually pessimistic Sutton supporter (for example, I felt fairly confident that we weren't going to be relegated when Tanto made it 3-0!!) I cling to any shred of positivity I can get. Whilst we all know that pre-season friendlies are meaningless in the long term, I suspect that I am not alone in desiring some small measure of "cheering up" and positivity regarding the season ahead. This is not to say that I don't have absolute confidence in Matt and the team's abilities, it's just that I would even be forensically analysing the league table if a Sutton United team were ever to lose at tiddlywinks*! #InMattwetrust #ForeverAmber!! NB* I'm posing no Andy Zaltzman type follow up question here on what SUFC's actual record tiddlywinks score or attendance might be so no requirement for our highly respected club statisticians to get their loft ladders down for that one at least!!

Just as well. I shoved the tiddlywinks records towards the back of the loft just last week.

I agree that we needn't take much notice of PSF results.
It's only when the real stuff starts that we need to get excited or worried.
