Never started a match thread before so here goes.
As said when the draw was made, it’s certainly a winnable game. We can take confidence from Saturdays draw v MK and hopefully make it into the last 16.

Me too...I called the PV shop and they said there is a QR code posted outside the away entrance that will allow you to buy a ticket online (effectively at the gate!)

OK, so looks like the only option is the QR code. Not a problem, but something posted on their website may have saved people a lot of time...

I got my ticket from the club shop. 😁
This game, to use one of Dos's terms, is a "free hit". We're not expected to win, and don't need to win, and that takes pressure off the players.
Port Vale may choose to rest some of their first-choice players, although it's debatable whether that would confer much of an advantage on us.
If our team plays as it did on Saturday, or at Wycombe in the last round, we have a decent chance.
The prize could very well be a plum draw in the next round.

Great effort tonight, surely a team who can play like that can't be at the foot of Lg2?
Foul on Eastie in the build up to their 1st, but the ball wasn't over the line just before we scored.

Not a foul, Easty delayed too long and then he thought about trying to buy the foul but the ball was nicked off him.

Respectable performance, but we can't complain much about the result. The ref gave us bugger-all, but it wasn't him who lost us the game.
Hisham took his goal well, after outmuscling their defender to control a long ball, and shortly before that we'd struck the bar following a corner, but we created little else. They had the lion's share of possession, and largely controlled the game without really imposing themselves.
Time to concentrate on the league.

Easty was certainly nudged off balance for the first, if he goes down may have got a decision. But no real complaints, good pressure from their guy.
Not a bad showing overall by the looks of things. We certainly look like we’re making it harder for the opposition to score. Hopefully we can find a win some time soon which will allow us all to be more positive about things and get some confidence back.

A positive performance if not a positive result. We all said that this was a free hit before the match against a team higher up the pyramid so shouldnt be too disappointed (assuming we have not missed a plum draw in the fourth round!) Good and bad from JR in goal. His positioning for their 1st goal was possibly a little suspect. That said, what a save with the feet shortly after! Great goal from Hisham and seems the shot from Aidan O Brien was probably on the line and not over...hey ho, onwards!

Another promising showing. Obviously, a win would have been what the doctor ordered but part of me was hoping we would get a draw and go out on penalties as to not create more games and distractions for us. In the end we got arguably an undeserved loss, so the next best thing. We now bow out of a competition which does not pay very much compared to the others.
Perhaps if we can pick up league results we can have a good go in the FA cup and save the season, though until we get out of the relegation zone that's all I care about.
Nice finish by Kasimu. He has always been sharp and I have rated him. He looked the best in our poor pre-season as well. He deserves to at least lead Matt's 70m Sub position, if not a start.
Could probably do without an away trip against a team now in outstanding form on Saturday, But at least our defence appears to look a little harder to break. They need to keep working hard and not let their heads drop.

Nice to see this comment on the PV forum...
I thought Sutton were a really good team (forget league positions) come end of season in league 2 they be top end or defo between 6th and 10th finishing that is .
You can see why they dumped two league one teams out .
