Charlton beat Villa-U21 4-2. Crawley have 4 points, Charlton and Sutton 3 points, Villa-U21 2 points. All to play for in the final games.

Second string teams but another well needed clean sheet which carries on from the last game, shame we could not nick the win but still with a chance of progressing. Hopefully no knocks.

Not a game that will live long in the memory. Open first half, with Crawley having the better chances and forcing a couple of good saves from Steve Arnold, us having some promising approach play that broke down on the edge of their area.
The second half rather petered out as both sides seemed to settle for a shoot-out. We then converted all five of our penalties, their fifth taker blazing over the bar.
A win of some sort is now required at Charlton if we're to progress to the knockout stage.

It wasn't pretty but not only nice to get another clean sheet, but a chance for those more on the sidelines to get more game time.
I was quite impressed with Mellor in the first half (although he did fade rather badly in the 2nd) and was good to see Tope get a run out (even though he was in his less familiar position on the wing). With Arnold back (and including a superb save in the first half at point blank range), I think we're spoilt for choice between the sticks.
Decent two points, and now to get something from Charlton. As we've seen already this year, L1 sides in cup competitions are nothing to fear, especially now in what is essentially a knockout game for us.

In respect of the iFollow situation last night, unfortunately there was an issue outside our control with the equipment at the ground which meant that the first half could not be streamed. As you might have gathered from the comments about the game, after the first ten seconds you didn't miss much, but I know that's not the point and we apologise for the inconvenience. The production company responsible for the filming immediately sent an engineer who worked through the first half so that the streaming was available for the second half and penalties. Anyone who bought a pass will have their payment refunded, and it is hoped this will happen automatically but if there is any further information regarding the refund process, which is not organised by the club but by the EFL/iFollow, I will pass it on. I don't think that any refund procedure would involve transferring the payment to Saturday, when the Doncaster game will be streamed as it is an international weekend, so anyone wanting to watch that game should buy a pass in the normal way.

Hypothetical question this.. had 16y/o Joden Trickett got on last night from the bench would he have been Sutton’s youngest ever player? I can’t remember who that title is held by currently - I want to say Matt Gray? (not current boss).

I can’t remember who that title is held by currently - I want to say Matt Gray? (not current boss). According to our website he would have become the oldest player, beating Dundo by some 70 odd years Attachments:

That should have been corrected shortly.
We did do a bit of checking before the game just incase we were asked this question. Joden is 16 years and 5 months, which is two months older than Mick Fillery when he made his debut for us on New Year's Day 1977. Jerson Dos Santos and Billy Dunn both played for us as 16 year olds in March 2008, and Matt Gray was a day short of his 17th birthday when he made his debut at Farnborough in January 2001.
I'll leave Mark to add anything else pertinent.

I watched the last 25 minutes of the game last night on ifollow, but this was spoilt by the unnecessary chattering by the commentary team. I wish they would remember you dont have to talk through the whole game, after all, we can see it.( in most cases)
